Cabin filter change. Good call.

Hello

I have owned my 2011 for 18 months and figure it may be time to change the cabin air filter. I watched a Youtube video and it was a simple replacement.

Yeah, it's surprising how nasty those get! I try to change mine about once a year or so.

^^ Yea that, I change mine out annually. It's only $15-18 for an OEM filter.

Yep did mine recently with only 30k mi. Looked the same. Took the opportunity to really clean and armor all the cowl that has to be removed and also vacuumed out every dust particle and leaf around filter.

^ You might want to spray some Lysol in the cowl to kill the mold...probably don't want to be breathing any of whatever that is.

Is your windshield washer fluid blue? Looks like you recently sprayed them and a little found its way onto the filter which isn't uncommon.

That may be it! Lol I mean it didn't smell weird or look like mold and I'm usually really prone to getting sick from things like that but I've been fine

I was talking about for the OEM Motorcraft FP-72. Yea you can get cheap knockoffs for cheaper. I went with a cheap version the first time and the Motorcraft I just put in this time, the build quality & fitment was leaps and bounds better. Worth the extra $8-10 to me.

Yep. I always use the FoMoCo filter since they can be had pretty cheaply. I worry that the off-brand cheapies might actually let stuff through due to cheap construction.
