Sponsorship for my car

Well, I'm hoping to get a few sponsors for my car this summer. You can take a peek at my build thread for my full build if you guys want. Any recommendations on how to go about this? I made an instagram: @boc_33
Follows are appreciated!
Any vendors on here feel free to drop me a PM
But really, is anyone on here sponsored or know the best way to get sponsored?

Lol.
Me too!

The best, and easiest, way to pick up a sponsor is to start your own automotive related business and to sponsor your own car.
I know that isn't as glamorous as you thought that it may be, but honest to god, that is how most people get "sponsored".

I don't want this to sound rude or sarcastic so please don't think that's what I'm doing..but.
Why would a company sponsor you? ..give you free things, expensive things.
Your Mustang appears to be a couple of year old V6... Which does look amazing.
But are you winning races somewhere and you have fans that want what your car has? Are you winning major car shows and people want what you have?

Well, I have had offers before at local shows, I've won a bunch of local ones, always have a crowd at my car at them, and am getting pretty well known around my area.
I have people everyday who PM me on here and other forums and group to copy my build and want what I have on my car.
I will be getting my go pro weds to post races.
Yeah I do have what no one else has. No one else is running 14 pounds of boost on a p1sc pro charger on a 3.7. Once race videos and dyno charts are up, I'll grow a lot.
Just wondering what some other options were.

I've read a few guys on other forums trying to do the same and from my experience a sponsorship is a mutual relationship. You get parts but the company expects to get exposure through advertising at either local track events, car shows, social media, etc (generally in the form of putting stickers or decals on the car to advertise). From what I've seen the big companies expect a lot of exposure to make it worth their time. Although a good way to start would be local performance shops may offer a small discount for advertising locally.

I know mangaflow has an application on their website (link below), so I would think the best way would be to look for similar links on companies you want to try and get a sponsorship from or email directly if you dont see anything listed. Doesn't hurt to try and worst they can do is say no.

There are some racing series that have "contingency" sponsorships from various aftermarket manufacturers. You will spend more campaigning you car in the series than the contingency money would ever possibly cover. And these sponsors are VERY particular as to the placement of their decals. They, essentially, expect you to be a rolling billboard for them.

Have you ever heard the expression that it isn't what you know, it's WHO you know?

It helps to know someone...

Well after reading all this...
I'd suggest trying to get local sponsors. You mentioned you are becoming well known in your area. Your best chance is to get some of your local businesses as sponsors. Companies like AM and other big names would most likely not help. You'll most likely need to be very well known in a very populated area. That would be the first step, get local sponsors. Judging by what happens, is how the next step falls into play.

I'm known as the kid who blew up his v6 and could've bought a real car at this point...
My IG is @alrefire

Not looking for any sponsors at this point, because most everything I need is either custom or not mass produced..... lol

Good luck Brian!

Excellent questions and I can tell you my V6 (2011) will be 5 years old this October. I have never won a single f ing car show. Ain't nobody want what I have. I have all of 1 fan and that's only me. I can't even finish the top 20 in my class when there are only 23 cars for the award.

I don't race my car so that's out the window. Looks like ain't nobody sponcering my dumb a$$! ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ‘

But I did once stay at a Holiday Inn!

Have a great day!

Why thank you sir. Very kind! On one note about car shows since car shows were mentioned. The vast majority like 99% of them around my area are people's choice voting so there are no guidelines or rules for judging.

Its basically whatever someone thinks is cool and likes. Its the cool factor. Nothing on my pony is really that cool. I don't have aftermarket hoods, wheels, superchargers airbrushing, flames, etc so it lacks a cool factor when it comes to winning car shows.

Have a great day!

Sponsorship for my car

You've gotta make a name for yourself and be extremely active. It's one thing for a car club to have sponsorships, it's a whole other thing to have personal sponsorships.

For example my club is sponsored by:
Sacramento Raceway
Sacramento Mustang Parts
Tognotti's Auto World
True Forged wheels
Muffler Tech

Those are just a few, there are a lot more

Probably the biggest supporter of our club is AED. They are local to us and the main guy (Drew) is good friends with our club president.

All that being said I don't even have any sponsorships of my own. Slowly working on it. But you have to make a name for yourself. I'm working with FTR right now and getting a sweet deal on their new Watts Link for further testing.

Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Magazine is also big into supporting the club. They have done features on a few, the last issue actually had one on our club president and small blurbs on a few other members with pics from our last show which had 150+ cars.

Wouldn't really consider that a "sponsor". But it is a prime example of having to make a name.

So far its mostly been they donate to the shows held. So the last show we held everything was paid for, such as trophies, there were also a bunch of vendor booths there. Depending on the sponsorship we get some discounts. I'll have to see if we get anything from AED.

Here is an article from MM&FF covering our show at Sacramento raceway last month.

I walked up to him at the end of the show and asked. Literally the only people left were us and him since he was packing up. The ride was literally from the parking lot to the gate since he had to leave lol.
