People that specialize in drivetrain is where I took my Mustang. They mostly work on tractor trailers or just trucks, but a rear axle is a rear axle. I would have checked out Drivetrain Specialist south on 35 near Aguirrie paint and body. Just saying

Yea I would never make it to them in time to ever pick up my car. I live in Cedar Park which is north of Austin. With Austin traffic and me getting out of work around 5-5:30pm, that would never work. And I doubt they will do the whole thing on Saturday and have it ready for pickup that same day.

You all have to realize that other circumstances also impact what shop you can choose. Such as job schedules, traffic, living location, etc. Now, if I didn't have a job, this wouldn't be an issue. But at the same time, if I didn't have a job, I wouldn't have a car. LOL

Have a great day!
And how much are parts? You'll be near 6-700

My gear parts were just under 300. So total I paid 600 including install.

Have a great day!

I had 2 shops quote me $750 here in TN for just gears, no aftermarket differential.

Ended up finding a guy that did it for $300. A popular shop I called just happened to recommend him.
The guy that installed the gears said he only charges that much because he does gear changes all the time and knows how long it will take him to do so

Yea. I asked around and most Mustang people here in Austin, TX recommended PMP because other shops just dont do gear installs enough and the prices they quote is just a random guess on their part.

I think I misunderstood what you meant. I was under the impression just the install price was $700 dollars not including the gear, kit and purchase

Have a great day!
