Experience with Custom H pipe?

Hello all,
I was thinking of getting a custom H pipe done by a local shop. But before I do I wasn't sure if it needed a tune or not? Also, I was hoping someone on here would have some experience with a custom H (or any catted H, in CA so I need to keep my cats). How does the sound change?

If you remove the cats yes, you will need a tune. If you do everything after the cats, since you mentioned you would be keeping them, then you don't need to do anything special.

Generally an H pipe will add a little more "bass" to the sound. In my experience playing around with the mid pipe is really worth it especially if youre keeping the cats. Might change the tone a bit but that's really about it.
