S-types vs. Ataks?

^ i have a hard time believing he didn't know that.

Op, what are you looking for? Because everyone is going to simply say " I have xxxxx and I love it! FTW!"

You are the one who has to like it. I recommend hearing them in person or making the choice based on what your looking for. Want that classic borla s type tone and sound? Go with s types. Want a menacing loud borla muffler? Go with atak.

i have ataks on mine. in videos, personally, i hear NO difference between the two whatsoever. i've never heard stingers in person, but my ataks sound cool.

I do happen to have a set of s-types for sale. *wink wink nudge nudge*

I've heard both the ATAKs and s-types in person and they both sound good. The ATAKs are pretty loud. A little too loud for me. I personally have the s-types and absolutely love them. Loud when I want them to be and quiet when I need them to be.

My friend is selling his car and he had the ATAKs originally (Joyochs bough them actually), but when he put on long tubes and x pipe he decided to switch to the s-types to tone it down a bit. Now that he's selling the car and going back to OEM, he gave me these to sell.

I had a set of Ataks on my 3.7 and thought they were extremely obnoxious. Wayyy to stupid loud for me. It was hard to hold conversations over sync and in the car in general. I ended up getting stypes and I love them. Paired with shorty headers and FRPP x pipe.. Sounds like a bunch of sex trumpets playing the national anthem.

I wouldnt get anything borla because thats part of the "starter pack" for new mustang owners. If i were you and wanted a good exhaust note i would goto a local exhaust shop and get them to fab up a muffler delete and or mount some resignators in the middle to make it not sound like a tin can

Yeah. Cause muffler deletes won't make it sound like a tin can. Lol.

Lol I would do the complete opposite of this.

Muffler delete is going to give you rasp and drone for days despite having "resignators" aka resonators lol.

Every muffler ive heard on a 3.7l sounds like a tin can, there is a difference between paying $500+ or around $200 for it to produce nearly the same sound

Actually one of the best sounding exhaust setups ive heard is just removing the axlebacks and not replacing em

With all due respect, have you ever heard Magnaflow Streets in person? They sound nothing like a tin can. Deep, mellow and not loud, the complete opposite of a tin can exhaust.

I've heard s types on a 3.7 and the car sounded great. Nothing like a tin can. In fact it was quite pleasant. Muffler deletes are a waste of money. They won't sound good and you can't get your money back out of them. Borla mufflers are a sound investment.

Maybe you're confusing your 3.8 with the 3.7

Those videos are great except the s type vid is with off road h pipe. So your not really getting the real borla intended sound.

S-types vs. Ataks?

I guess the stingers, probably because of the H. The other two, well, no comment...

Well it all depends on what mufflers you choose and your driving style. When a cop is around dont be flooring it. If you live in a state like south carolina you can ride around with open headers and floor it in front of cops because of no emissions law.

I have the Ford Racing Sport axle backs (if I'm not mistaken they are almost identical to the S-types) Shorty Headers (bbk) and added resonators that I had put in when I had bassani axle backs on the car. I tried to eliminate all tin can sound. Sounds like this:
