Splash sheild

So my splash sheild kept coming on and off due to me parking foward. I thought I had fixed the problem by putting it back in place, but driving off the highway this morning the splash sheild ripped off the car completely. It was dangling by one small piece. My question is does anyone know if it's highly important to get a new one??? Or could I leave it that way?

The shield is going to help with aerodynamics (mainly in regards to MPG), and removing it could have a very marginal affect on cooling (in regards to radiator efficiency), but mainly your engine bay is just going to get really dirty without one.

I have the cervini grill lower and upper so there is air flow going toward the engine bay, but what do you mean by dry?

Well... the Splash shield is going to help with aerodynamics, which will improve MPG. The splash shield also prevents higher pressure from forming in the engine bay, which improves radiator efficiency and can help the car run cooler, and will also keep the engine bay from getting extremely dirty.

Should you order one. Yes

Do you have to no.

Would I or voltwings order a new one. Hell yes.

Believe it or not it also serves as added rigidity to the bottom section of the bumper cover. I'd replace it

It might also help deflect rocks and other road debris from bouncing up and hitting the radiator and A/C condenser.

It's amazing what car companies can charge for a piece of plastic.

Might be worth trolling eBay and see if someone is selling a used one from a wreck or car they're parting out. Who cares if it has a few scuffs since nobody's going to see it?

Yeah, car companies are masters at charging huge sums for little bits of plastic.

Yeah, I'd definitely either go to eBay or check out any local junk yard.

Two things. 1) Replace the Splash Shield. 2) Take a course in how to park you car.

Hahaha out of all the advice in this thread, I'd heed this advice the most.

Yea I was in a rush and the median that was there was actually higher then regulation lol I park backwards 99.9% of the time. What sucks is that I had the cervini gt500 chin spoiler which is what caught on to the median. Now I spoke with a Ford Mustang specialist that said the splash sheild is useless anyways. My car is regular height now if it was lowered then it would be best to switch it out.

Still confused why you would back over a median? What is a median doing in a parking spot any ways??

And since when is there a controlled median height? Did you measure said median to make sure it's over regulations

Lol that's what the regulation calls it a "parking median" there's an actual measurement that it's suppose to be at. If it's to high it could mess up anyone's front bumper or even rear bumper there's lawsuits on it to.

You'll have to post a picture. By definition a median is the grass with curbs or something similar like what's on a divided freeway. Little confused here

I guess my main question is. If there is a law suit against it already that you know of. Than why park there and risk it?

That's exactly what I thought and said but no I'll see if I get the state statue on it. There's not a lawsuit on this parking spot exactly lol I've heard of some on it. People create lawsuits for stupid reasons. I'll send a picture later
