Talking Borla Exhaust

I was wondering if anyone thought it was worth getting the Borla S-type catback or if I should just get the axle back? Also was wondering if I do go with just the axle back what I can do later to make it louder?

If you're looking for loud just go with the Borla ataks instead of the s-type. I have the s type axel backs on my GT and they are a great blend of quiet when I want them to be. And head turning when I want them to be

ataks are loud as hell when you step on it, and mild when you're cruising. no drone either.

I personally don't believe a cat back is worth it unless you're doing stuff to the whole system.

Just stick with the axle backs. The only think you're gaining from the Borla cat backs is a prettier metal. You'll need a lot more supporting mods to make it worth it.

If you're looking for loud plus some HP/TQ gains, grab yourself some long tube headers and an off-road x-pipe with the ATAKs. Your neighbors will hate you, I promise. You'll need a tune to go with this since you're deleting the cats.

The easiest way to piss of your neighbors is to just go with the ATAKs though.

I got my S-Types put on like a month ago, night and day difference from stock. You'll be happy I have no doubts.

For louder, Stock length X Pipe or Longtubes with x pipe. S Types give a nice lower rumble.

Only reason you want the catback imo, is if you eventually want the whole exhaust to be considered "Aftermarket" if you do headers and midpipe. Because it seems you cannot buy those over axle pipes by themselves without purchasing the muffler portion again.

Also for some, including myself, the stock over axle pipes came dented like crazy from Ford. so replacing them could give it a cleaner look.
