Question on steeda diff cover

I got my steeda diff cover but I only have one plug in the package and 10 hex bolts. Anybody that has one of this does this seem right? Where does the drain plug go and the vent plug? I'm confused need your experience on this one. Thanks

Found this on AM website and the picture also don't have a plug. So I don't know if I'm supposed to only have one plug for filling, but what about the drain plug and the vent plug.

The one plug should be the vent. The fill and drain should be installed.

Thanks man I just figured it out while doing more research, plus your answer sums it up I appreciate it.. What is the vent plug for? What tools to use to unscrew the fill and drain plug when time comes for changing?

When you drain it you open the vent plug on top.

Hello,

The vent plug is standard in all solid axle rear ends from Ford.

Use an Allen key to remove the drain plug.

Hope that helps!

Best Regards,

TJ

If you are doing road racing, it's a good idea to extend that vent up to the body and throw a filter on it. They tend to puke oil when abused.

Not going for road racing just want to pro long my new gears and I like the option that you can just drain and fill oil easily for maintenance but just curious where do you get the filter for these cover?

I have this one. It has a hole in the very top where you can move the vent from the axle to the top of the cover. Then plug the axle vent hole.

I found the same Ford one. I've seen a Shelby vent kit if you want to blow a couple hundred dollars. They put a reservoir can on the end of theirs.Or you can spend a couple bucks on fuel hose and run it up to your body and tie it down. FMS did this on his, but I don't think he put a breather filter on the end of it. I haven't been to the track again since I noticed the puking so haven't been motivated to install the new cover.
