Custom Lower Grille

I am probably going to be picking up a oem lower grille to chop up and make a lower delete. Has anyone done this? I figure I can chop it up how I like, sand it down, and then plasti dip it if it needs it. I am not about to pay for a roush lower delete.

I didnt want to pay for the roush either. does have an intercooler bracket which is part of the reason for the cost. Have you checked out the new Cirvini GT500 lower on AM?? I just got it but havent installed yet. ALLOT cheaper.

I've tossed the idea around, however, I figure I can get an oem lower for super cheap and just tinker with it. If I don't like it then no loss and I'll order one.

Looks cool.

I'm contemplating the Cervini's GT500 lower grille which includes the mesh. Then making a template for "CYCLONE" to plasti-dip in white on the mesh. Not really clear how dense the mesh is yet, so it's still on the drawing board.

I did that to match our CDC upper. Only thing is you have to be very careful with it, because it loses a LOT of rigidity doing this. All in all it just costs some time and elbow grease though.

I've noticed this as well. Did you trim out the entire inside or did you opt for the way I am going?

I am oretty happy with the Cirvini lower. I dont think it is worth the $80 in money to do all of this but that said I admire it and think it is pretty cool. I love when people make their pony their own. There are allot of Mustangs in the world and we all of us guys here on ME like to make them special or unique to us. Let us see finished product on car please.

Up close you get to see just home made it is lol. This is just my "rough draft" though. I will be looking into a mesh to cover it.
