Android app for measuring performance?

Can anyone recommend an android app for performance (0-60, 1/4 mile, etc) that uses GPS and doesn't require a Bluetooth OBD adapter? Oh and that works well lol.

Cost and not being sure if it's worth it, honestly. Mainly just looking for something to play around with and not sink a bunch of money in.

Do that 13/14 Premium cluster swap if the money ever presents itself. You will get to monitor the a/f ratio, trans temp, oil pressure and temp, and a few other things. You also get Track Apps! (0-60 times, 1/4 miles times, braking performance, etc)

Torque is $5 and you can get one of the cheapie bluetooth obd's for $10 that work no problem.

I believe that TRC (that racing channel) has an app that can do that using GPS. Might be in the play store or on their website.

That's not bad. Have a link to the OBD module?

Now the question is, which module? There seems to be a ton out there. Like I said, I'm just looking for something to play around with.

I once bought a 10 dollar OBD II device and it lasted all of 7 times and then took a crap. There is a reason that $10 OBDII device is $10. Because they are junk. Spend the $70 dollars and get a good quality one. That's what I did. Use it every time I drive my pony and have had it for the past 6 plus months. 👍

I've had the one I picked up off Amazon for 4-5 months no issues.

Amazon.com: BAFX Products - Bluetooth OBD2 scan tool - For check engine light & diagnostics - Android ONLY: Automotive

i've had that one for over a year and it works perfectly.

i don't use torque because the app looked like garbage and performed like it, too...it still had the styling/functionality of like android gingerbread on it, despite the fact we're all the way up to lolipop now. definitely had no desire giving them my money.

went with another app on the amazon app store, think it was called touchscan or something. much better.

I have used Solo Storm in a few other competitors cars. The price is not insignificant, but it is the best android based system by far. Also does overlays, allowing you to critique successive runs to see where mistakes were made.

Proving to my fellow racers that the disdain that some GT drivers have for V6 drivers is unfounded, one results archive at a time since 2013.

I just picked up this one:
Amazon.com: ScanTool 427201 OBDLink LX Bluetooth: OBD Adapter/Diagnostic Scanner for Android & Windows: Automotive

Also I've downloaded Torque Pro - I havent had a chance to play with it yet but so far everything seems really good. The OBD2 scanner I bought actually came with its own program for datalogging and changing settings but I dont think I will need that kind of stuff for a while.

Not even close to being the same as what these apps do.

Thanks for all of the input, guys. This is just something for me to play around with. Hopefully accurate enough to see where I'm at without going to the track.

The 0-60 app doesn't work correctly. They are not accurate or close. The speed on the app device doesn't register as fast as the car is really moving. Your car is accelerating faster than the app can register.

I think this has to do with your OBD2 scanner more than the app. If you but a cheap OBD2 scanner you can't expect it to work very well.

I have a scantool and it seems pretty accurate on RPMs and speed.

Well, I spent $70 dollars on the OBD2 device. How much money do I need to spend for a good one.

This is the one I exactly bought and held up great. So if this is cheap, how much is a good one cost?

Everything works pretty good so far. Haven't had much time to play with it. So many options and features. The intake temperature is interesting. Had air temp gauge and intake air temp gauge. On the highway they were dead even. Then around town, intake air temp was much higher. No doubt heat soak from the engine.
