SCT X4 Problems HELP!

Recently while trying to delete old tunes off of my X4 I couldnt get some to delete and I found out renaming them somehow helps delete them. After all that some are still stuck on there and when trying to load a tune or go back to stock it says the file is corrupted. I backed up my stock file but cant figure out how to get it back on the tuner, theres no option for it(that I can find). Any help would be awesome!

First, return the car back to stock. Then Factory reset the tuner device (in device settings I think?). It will only wipe the tunes off that you put on there. I had to do this to mine to. Then just reload the tunes back on them from your computer.

then the next time you go to load a tune, it will just recapture the stock tune.

Hey Race - If anything I would suggest shooting MPT a call directly and they should be able to get you some help.

I am just worried about the stock tune at this point. If it is corrupted, I would imagine only Ford can give you another copy unless MPT has one laying around (doubt it). I have never seen the stock tune get corrupted on a device so this is uncharted territory for me.

I have the .bef file from the stock tune if that helps.

You didn't save the stock tune to a computer or something?

That stinks. Call MPT.

On another note, I am interested how you hit ~13.2 in the 1/4 mile. I have alot of the same mods and barely hit 13.8. What wheels do you use? Any tips?

OP That's a fairly common issue and I've seen it here with Bama all the time - There's nothing wrong with their tunes and it's a device issue. Shoot them a call and they'll get you some help.

It's a really close knit community on here and they've done the same for us in the past I'm not here to split hairs, neither are they.

Firmware/Device issues account for roughly 90% of tuner issues. They'll get you setup, it's a quick fix.

Alex

Haha sorry ya I got that time with just 3.73 and a tune nothing else. All the stuff on my sig wasn't used in that time. I have the stock wheels, I've tried 10" wide wheels and got a 14 sec haha for some reason stock wheels are better for my setup. Just 215 65 17 lol. I want to get the manual tires next think they are 225 55 17

Yea I guess heavier rims = bad effect on rotational mass. The Texas heat must be my biggest enemy then. Was 105 when I raced last weekend. Intake Air temps were 115 to 125. Not much I can do about that.

Thanks though.

I had a similar issue when I tried to change mine back to stock tune. I called Moe at SCT 407-774-2447 and they had me plug my tuner into my computer, then took over my computer remotely and fix'd the problem. A great bunch of guys back there.

Don't know who MPT is..................I'd contact SCT. Just be repaired to wait on the telephone for up to 30 minutes to talk with Moe or one of the techs.
