How difficult is it to install halos?

Need honest opinions on this. I want halos badly, but need to know the true story. How difficult is it really?

Retro fitting headlights or HALO fogs? Headlights could be a bit daunting as you have to "bake" the headlights and such to pull the housing apart, not to mention taking off your front bumper.

Fog HALOs were really easy for me however I am mechanically inclined. It all depends on how inclined you are. If you can change brake pads, or do an oil change this may even be easier than that. See the below thread for pointers and a full discussion on the subject of fog light HALOS.

I guess I should have stated halos for the headlights. I will be buying a different set and installing the halos before putting them on the car. I've removed my front bumper and headlights before to tint them, so I know what that involves. I've seen some people have had trouble with separating the light lens after baking. Some have had to use heat guns as well. I don't have a heat gun, so baking is my only option right now. Does it differ from different housings as to how difficult it is to separate them? I'll be using aftermarket like the Raxioms (black bezels, tinted lens, clear turn signals).

You have to crack open your head lights. Are you comfortable with that?

Yes, I know that. I'm asking how difficult that really is and if the difficulty varies between different manufacturer light assemblies.

I'm sure it does. I think you're always taking a risk cracking open a head light. Some might be easier than others. The only way to know is to go for it.

I've also seen/heard different oven temp as well. Wondering what's best and if it's possible to melt the assemblies.

If I remember correctly, it should be right around 200 degrees for like 10-15 mins.

Old post I know, I ordered a set of replacement fog lights for my 12', the GT500/Roush style ones. The lenses on these are glass. The directions I found said to bake them in the oven at 215 degrees F for 10 minutes then repeat for 5 minutes if needed. I ended up with each one in the oven for 45 minutes and it was still a fight to get them separated, but it finally worked.

I was never successful in getting my fogs apart.
