Car shakes

Ok I'm pretty sure it's drone from my exhaust but when I hit around 80-85 mph, my whole car shakes. Not sure if it's the drone or an alignment issue or what.

Wouldnt be alignment, it would be a wheel balance issue. Do you have aftermarket wheels, or a one piece driveshaft?

Stock tires and wheels, not sure about the drive shaft. I've heard before that it could be rack and pinion steering but idk enough about it to tell.

Do you feel the shake in the steering wheel, your butt, or all over in the car?

Not sure about the tire balancing, might have to do that.

It feels like the shake is mainly in the wheel and dash

Manual or auto? If manual, it could just be the normal driveline rumble at 2500 rpm (depending on your gearing, you may be in that sweet spot on the tach at this speed, had that happen on the 3.15 axle).

Proving to my fellow racers that the disdain that some GT drivers have for V6 drivers is unfounded, one results archive at a time since 2013.

That's a lot of miles for the factory tires...I'm betting balance issue too.

On my last car, I actually wound up with a tire that was out of round. Plenty of tread left, but if you jacked up that corner and spun the wheel, the tire was no longer round...weird stuff happens if the balance is off for a while.

I went from all season Pirelli to Summer tire Mickey Thompson, and I can't even let go of the steering wheel or else it will go left or right. Don't know if that's what summer tires do or i might need my wheels balanced.

Sounds like an alignment is in your future.

I've heard the opposite, they are noisy and don't hook up well but last forever. I've lite these tires up quite a few times and was shocked at how much tread is actually left in these.
This actually came up on a thread not long ago about people saying they are noisy and don't hook up well but that they last pretty damn long. I'll try and pull up the thread.
Not so happy on the road noise but they r nice for longevity!!

I guess only if you don't toast the tires and go lightly them

Maybe, I don't smoke them any chance I get but I'm pretty hard on my car, I drive it lol. I don't worry about excessive tire wear.

I went with Mickey thompsons because Pirelli couldn't never hook no matter what, not even in heat.

If you think MTs are bad about finding ruts in the road and following them, try a really grippy tire like a Bridgestone RE-71R, or a set of Hoosiers like mine. Wide, sticky tires will tend to follow road imperfections like a champ.
