I will probably keep the stock shifter and get the steel clutch cable, barton 2 post bracket, and the steeda trans mount. With a setup like this, what should I be able to expect as far as performance, noise, shaking/vibration, etc?

The 2 post bracket does help, but the shifter is really the icing on the cake.

I dont want the throws to be super short. I wont be racing the car. I just want to rid the car of the deceleration vibration and lose the 2-3 mis-shift.

My drag car will still be the 2014. The 2011 will be my commuter and spirited highway driving car.

Barton/FFRP short shifter is a sound investment. Believe me, doesn't take the fun out of shifting. It PUTS THE FUN BACK IN shifting an MT-82

Alrighty. I just took a peek at both and it looks like the barton is the less pricey version but both are pretty much the same thing. So I might look at the Barton one in a few weeks.

^they are identical but obviously the Ford racing one is better because it cost more

I have the ford racing one. I went that route because by the time you buy the shift boot retainer and a shift ball it's not much more. And the ford racing comes with that. I love the look of that ball myself so for me it was a no brainer. If you want a different ball, go Barton.

I will say that I saw the Barton booth at the AM show and they now have a "mgw" style shifter set up and it has a driveshaft loop built in. Entire assembly looks and felt killer. It's pricey (599) I believe. But like the Barton guy was telling me a drive shaft loop is about 130 on its own. So figure that in and your back around the same price as the Barton with 2 post plus a few bucks.

Very nice. I am assuming by new, these will soon be on AM's site?

I would imagine since they were at the American muscle show trying to pump it up.

decel vibe will NOT be stopped with a shifter. the mgw which does have shorter shifts is not about shorter shifts (L/R = same) it is about precision and eliminating the slop.

What does everyone think?

I've have flow masters on mine and love them. Very good low tone and definitely get loud when you want them too, but fairly quiet when you just want to cruise around town. After almost 2 1/2 years they still look like new.

I understand. Isnt that what replacing the driveshaft is for? If not, then i wont bother with it right now.

I thought it was because of the dual mass flywheel.

Or you can get the mgw for around 200 used and mgw will transfer the warranty over to you. They even allow you to send it in and they will look it over and replace any worn out parts under warranty. You just have to pay shipping

Is it true that Manuals can get better numbers more often on dynos and such vs. Autos?

more often = always. Autos have more power loss than manuals because of the transmission. So your power to the wheels will be less, aka better numbers on the manuals.

Awesome. Also, i was comparing the 2011 v6 pp to the 2014. So did the 2011s come with stock v6 sway bars?

some people have said the DS cuts down on the flywheel vibe.....but Mud has gone so far as to get my car doing it while stopped. It's the flywheel. Nothing wrong with a new drive shaft but don't expect it to elim the vibration. I admit to never having driven one with an upgraded driveshaft.

If you don't mind me asking, what do they get $$$ wise for a loaded 2011 like that and how many miles again?

That is a damn good looking car btw.

The car has just over 100k miles. Now it did need some cosmetic repairs which I am getting done. Between those, purchasing the 3 yr bumper to bumper warranty, and the price for the car itself, I am spending around $10,000.

I did check and the car blue books and has an NADA value of 14k-15k.

Get rid of that warranty.

Does anyone know if the 15' shift knob will fit the 11-14? I kind of like the 2015 shift knob.

Well, shop just called and said the car should be ready for pick-up tomorrow night. They had to order a 2nd lower front lip spoiler because the 1st replacement didn't line up correctly. I just want this car in my possession already!!!
