I've heard she's holding out for the V8.

Nah that would be me one day. She likes the newer 2015 Focus cars. But since she doesn't know how to drive a manual, I let her drive the 2014 since it is Auto.

I will say, it is nice to drive a manual again.

Haven't had a manual in several years and at first wasn't looking forward to one again but now I wouldn't have it any other way. Best decision I've made other than the mustang itself in quite some time!

Exactly. My Auto will always be my modded 3.7 beast. But my manual will be my Daily Driver and I will keep working to restore it. As the previous owners of the car failed to do that. I can never understand when someone can mis treat such a nice car.

Lies.

Kevin who are you trying to fool? I predict you have a 5.0 in less than 2 years. If I really wanted to gamble I'd venture to say you have a different car in the next 12 months.

Not this time sir. Too many inquiries on my credit by looking for/applying for 5.0s so I need to let it simmer for a couple of years. And assuming these cars dont just go to crap and break down on me completely, I will keep them for a while. I will admit, having the Auto, you don't really feel 305 HP at the crank/260 or so to the wheels. But you definitely feel it more with a Manual.

It really has been a blast driving in a manual again. Will only drive the Auto again if I HAVE to.

What do I get if I hang on to these cars and you lose? Knowing you, you would probably say something like "2 3.7s". LMAO

Exactly.

But I would even do a side bet to my own bet and say that even if I were to promise you an incentive you would still move on in a 12 month period. lol

^ 😂

Well assuming I don't get rid of my car (I keep mine generally) I'd say I will be around to call you out. Haha.

Enough with this trolling business. A Guy can't read the newest posts and reply away as he pleases?

I pass on so many topics to avoid some of the ignorance. Wish I was kidding.

So after 2 months, I finally got my 2011 back. Paint looks good. We will see how it holds up in the coming months. They also fixed the popping in the front end. Even though the front end didn't clunk on bumps and such, the passenger strut was found to be bad. So they replaced it and now the popping is gone. Also got a free alignment out of it.

All I did so far was add my Oil Catch Can and license plate bracket. I will start doing more to it throughout the week.

Close but for this year it was Kona Blue.

The parts with all new paint is the passenger and driver side rear quarter panel, driver side door, and front bumper cover. The rest of the car was buffed and polished.

Does anyone know what are the things to do and watch out for with new paint jobs for the upcoming weeks?

Looks good. Hard to tell in the pics really. If I were you I would look for fish eyes, trash in the paint, overspray, poor blends, issues around louvers, door handles, lights, trim ect.

Ah, I was asking because if you went all new I would hope you would go with a unique color. But yes, looks damn good from the pics. Love the hood.

There are a couple of fish eyes but the blending is actually pretty good this time around. I couldn't find any issues around the louvers or anything.

Could a couple of small fish eyes lead to serious issues later? If not, I am not going to worry about them. You can't even notice them unless you get really close to the car and are looking for them.

Don't park under any trees. Try to get the birds to cooperate with you by having them not take massive dumps on your paint. After a few months, your paint should be good.

I was curious why does it take a few months before you can really clean your car good? I can understand a couple of weeks.

I want to add my side scoops today if possible. Would using the alcohol wipes and adhesive promoter be a bad idea?

Bad idea

The clear needs to fully cure. Even though it's dry to the touch it has not fully hardened. It's is very malleable and doing vinyl or 3m tape on the car within the first 60 days will cause the clear to bond with any adhesives you stick on it.

The fish eyes don't cause issues. Just a sign that they gave only 1 $hiit about your paint job and not 2. If you can live with it, leave it.

Thanks for the tip. I will be sure to hold off. At this point, I probably have another 6 weeks to wait before I can add the fender badges and side scoops.

Eventually I would like to switch to a GT front bumper so if/when I do that, the fish eyes will be gone.
