Gotcha. I dont get much wheel noise. Just shaking.

The noise i do get is from the engine and transmission.

Will be changing the clutch and flywheel eventually also. I get a ton of vibration from the dual mass flywheel. More then my other 2011 had. Probably due to more wear?

I was curious - when should the motor mounts get changed on these? I am sure they wear out after a while.

This car has 105k miles.

Would it need new front control arms or motor mounts?

And are these cars supposed to sound like i am driving a truck? Not talking about exhaust. Lol
With over 100K I would replace the front wheel bearings, they are not expensive and they could be worn.

I remember on one of my older cars, I had to replace the tie rod ends due to play in the wheel. Maybe I will look into that as well.

Just a lot of little things. Good thing my wife's uncle has a lift and pretty much every tool needed. Or I wouldn't even bother. Tie rod ends look to be fairly cheap.

I take all of this as an opportunity to learn more about these cars. Once this car gets built back up, it will be a very nice and reliable car. I was told these 3.7 engines are pretty tough for the most part. I would say at 105k miles, this car has proven its longevity.

Good thing the problems are just wear and tear stuff.

I would swap with your wifes car to check out the tire theory......if you want oem motor mounts I'll sell mine cheap. I am one who swapped mine out and it was one of my favorite shifting mods...at the expense of a good bit more nvh

Do you have a picture of what these actually look like? I see pics of them on different sites but they all look different. I see the mount in the engine bay but I am not sure if it is made up of separate parts.

the oem's are 4" diameter discs with a central stud held in place with two bolts the aftermarket were a lot smaller and instead of a stud you use a bolt. OEM's are one piece...my replacements were two piece so if you wanted to you could lower the engine a bit by removing the spacer. They mount on the side of the engine compartment directly under the large aluminum brackets. If you change them be sure to disconnect the battery first. If you really need it I can take pics

Very nice. So they sell them as 1 piece. That was my concern, if the V6s and V8s used different ones. I see AM has a set but they are for the V8s.

When the alignment was done they typically (should have) looked at worn parts that affect alignment, such as tie rod ends.
If they're not worn don't replace them.
Typically an alignment is required after new tie rod ends. Although if you can accurately mark/measure position of existing vs new you can get it pretty darn close.

You would think but no. I found another Kona Blue Mustang in Cedar Park and compared a scoop to it, they are too light. Looks more like Deep Impact Blue.

Yes the other Kona Blue was a 5.0

See in the pics how the DIB ones are a bit lighter?

I think the confusion here is they have these side scoops marked as 11-14 when in fact, 11-12 and 13-14 vary in colors. So they should probably separate these to prevent confusion.

I mean yea, they have drop downs and such where you can select your color, but obviously it is confusing someone.

How about forgetting them all together. Lol oh I already suggested that. I'm going to go out in a limb and say based on your cars multiple paint jobs and a random other car that could have been painted that maybe it's not AM painting these some random different color but that your car just isn't the correct shade anymore

Nah I had another 2011 Kona Blue and it definitely wasn't as light as these side scoops are. Trust me. If you saw these, you can easily tell they are not a match.

With paint, it fades. It typically doesn't keep getting darker. So that part doesn't make much sense.

Also what doesn't make sense about that post is referencing multiple paints jobs. Suggesting the entire car was repainted. It wasn't. Only a few body parts were. I did have it inspected before the shop touched it and a lot of the panels still had the OEM paint on it. No flaws in the paint or anything. It is pretty obvious. And the panels that were painted, were painted to match the ones with the OEM paint.

So......? Not helpful man.

Shops do blends, so what's on a fender may not be the same as what's in the door ect. No need to get touchy. Just seems odd that a company like AM who paints this color a ton would have had other complaints by now. I'm also guessing Alex would have checked what he sent you the second time against one of the many cars they have at the shop or color charts. Somethings obviously not adding up and from here it would seem like it's your car. So I felt like it was pretty helpful. But maybe you can get a third set sent out and continue to torture yourself

Well tomorrow I will compare against parts on the car that normally do not get repainted. Such as painted body on the inside. Like under the hood, engine bay, door jambs, etc. I am thinking about getting some of the Kona Blue paint and putting it on something and comparing.

So instead of wasting my money, I found a Deep Impact Blue mustang at my nearby Wal Mart. As weird as it probably looked, I held one of the scoops up next to it. Guess what?! PERFECT MATCH.

So I am assuming at this point that someone is mixing up the 11-12 Kona Blue with the 13-14 Deep Impact Blue....

NOTE: Hope no one that saw me thought I stole something off that car. LOL

Now to put the final icing on the cake. I examined the back of the side scoops that were sent to me. The Paint Code is J4. Guess what J4 is?! Deep Impact Blue!

L6 is Kona Blue.

I'll be honest I'm not even sure what blue this is or what it's close to.

I've got a new set being picked and inspected for you right now. I just want to make sure that we don't have an inventory issue.

Drop me a line if anything else pops up!

I'm surprised! Alex had pretty much agreed with you yet it still managed to slip through the cracks, a second time.

Yea i didnt even think to check the back for a paint code. I would have hoped they would have confirmed they were painted with code L6 before sending them out.

Now that we know the paint codes, maybe we can get this ironed out. I still have faith in AM.

As in the words of Kevin James from Pixels, this is not Catatastrophic.

Was waiting for AMAlex to drop in on here. As I am scared to death about calling AM and talking with a random rep. As I have had previous bad experiences and we read about the horror stories others have reported on here.

But since he has been offline for a while, I might try to call them this afternoon. I don't have a good feeling about it though.
