Ugh...cracked windshield

Just when I thought I wasn't having enough issues with the 'stang, I managed to get a nice crack from a rock on my way home today. Yay.

At least insurance will replace it for free, and the replacement windshields all come with the running pony logo, which is nice. The old glass is pock-marked to hell with little rock chips, so at least those will be gone too!

Just venting a bit.

Yep! Might have to put off a final shakedown cruise of the rebuilt '69 Camaro, though.

Someone on another forum said it is really difficult to get a new windshield with the pony on it. Where are you getting yours?

I'm using Giant Glass...they confirmed that they have LKQ windshields both with and without the pony logo in stock, so they will be dropping by tomorrow to do the replacement. They claim the windshields are from the same supplier who produces them for Ford, so it should be OEM quality. I'll find out tomorrow!

I've noticed that the Mustang is prone to windshield chips...probably the combo of the car being lower than my previous one and the angle of the glass.

Yes...lots of high-speed "testing" needed.

It's the sand put on the roads in winter. It isn't all sand it is full of bullet sized pebbles.

Possibly, though I drove my old car over the same roads and didn't notice the same number of chips.

Tym, you must have been real evil in your previous life. I'm thinking you and Shu have been having pretty bad luck recently.

My car has had problems since day one...I chalk it up to poor build quality.

I can't find any electrical problem, and the auto-dim works. I disconnected the neg battery cable for a few minutes... no change.

I can't get into CAL mode pushing "7" and "9" so I wonder if the 13s auto-cal and I should just wait?

And now it's working... another ignition key cycle after pulling the neg battery cable seems to have done the trick.

Guess I wasn't evil enough in my past life.
