I got mine as take-offs on ebay. $150. Then I had a shop cut in to my hood and install them for $200.

I think it might be easier to just try and find a gt hood in your color.

Definitely put some feelers out on Craigslist. I found a black GT hood for my car at a very reasonable price. The only problem was trying to figure out a way to get it home...

Trust me, after 20 minutes of trying to figure out how to fit in the back of a Yukon XL, I was strongly considering it

I was thinking taking off the existing hood at home and then driving to get the new hood.
Don't think it's illegal to drive without a hood in VA.

There was a wanted posting on Craigslist in my area for a 13-14 GT hood for months. I picked mine up for $250 on craigslist though it does need to be painted correct shade of white. Mine is a 14 and it's from a 13. Here's how I brought it home.

I've seen some decent gt500 take offs on eBay for ingot. Finding sterling grey on the other hand is ridiculous!

Ummm aluminum doesn't rust.

But yes you do want to make sure it doesn't have the bubbles in the paint from the dreaded aluminum oxidation issue. But honestly, good luck finding one that is free of all these issues.

Sorry my bad, that's what I meant. I'm pretty sure most hoods have paint issues, so I would just do the custom hood vents.

I sold my black 14 GT hood to a fellow member for about $200. It pays to look and wait....orrrrr just do what you really want and buy a whole GT with the wheels and doors and that five point ooooooo.

Why is that not worth it? There aren't a ton of aftermarket options for us and the good ones are $1100 shipped. $750 for one that will have an OEM finish doesn't seem that bad. I mean, everyone likes the GT500 spoiler...

The OEM finish is just the problem. It sucks haha. I'm dealing with the OEM finish with the hood I have now.

Yep that's the one with damage to one of the corners.

Tempting, but I don't want to replace a damaged hood with a damaged hood.

I'm upgrading to a 2015 GT so I gave up my search and I had found one last week. Doesn't seem damaged, you interested? Price seems fair for it.

Personally I wouldn't spend a cent on a Ford OEM hood given the risk of paint bubbling from aluminum corrosion.
