Well Done! Great write up with pics.

I'll add my hints: If you are too cheap to buy a pump and have a long piece of approx fuel line (or small tubing) you can snake it through the engine compartment to the fill port and using a small funnel fill it from the top. Whatever you do make sure you have a way to fill it B4 draining or you'll be forced to improvise using fuel line and a funnel. I also suggest saving the OEM fluid in a clean container if you are paranoid of being denied wtty service IF your transmission explodes and your dealer is nasty.

The jokester in me wanted to suggest the following.
1. Remove MT-82
2. Discard
3. Install better transmission.
4. Fill with fluid of your choice.

;P

Kidding aside, great write up.

Too bad it doesn't cost the same as 3 quarts of fluid, otherwise I'd change it out every other week

Changed my fluid out to Royal Purple this am. Didn't need to worry about siphoning off .3 quarts here as much as I spilled!

Hahah. If you got it on your driveway, brake cleaner takes it right off

Thanks. I didn't even know we had that. I breezed over the beginning of the thread this morning and didn't see it. My apologies.

I've done several swaps from the bottom with a fluid transfer pump ... which sucks. I'm going to be changing the trans oil in our v6 this weekend and want to try something someone mentioned (forget who), which is to basically have a hose come down through the shifter assembly inside the car. Might make life a little easier.

when I did mine it was a tube running from the engine bay a 4' length of fuel line approx (3/8 or 5/16 id) it fit nicely inside a funnel. the hose then went into the fill port. it filled slow but it wasn't too bad.

hint to get the .7 qts pour out 10 oz and use the remaining left in the qt.

and I edited my post to hopefully make Mean14's how to easier to find.
