If true I may install the tune and if it happens again do the stock 100 mile trick. Still on the fence either way.
False. If they wanted to know/see you had a tune on it, they would be able to tell.

yes the 6R80 is the name of the Auto trans. MT82 is the name of the Manual trans.

Well they said the dealership techs would not be able to tell, but if they sent your ECU to the Ford lab they could see it. I read that somewhere else as well and the logic made sense.

But I guess the smart move is to get Ford to see if it's that solenoid thing first. I'm horrible with patience.

Okay so I finally got all my 87 gas out of my car and beat the hell out of it in the meantime to try to get that weird high rev shift "hang" to repeat. It never did so I just installed my SCT tune (no custom, just selected the 91 with 3.31 and set the max RPM to 7500).

Let me say I was prepared not to feel much difference. I let her idle for a few minutes and then took her out for a spin. Let me tell you, I am VERY impressed with just the SCT tune. Shifts are the perfect firmness with zero of that slushy lag between shifts. When I got on her I could feel the full power of my cyclone and would give me that slight lunge I had been missing.

I only went for a sort drive but my traction control kicked in hard at least 3 times. When driving normal it was nice and quiet but when I was humming along doing 30 and hit it the car immediately responded with no delay like before. I was getting 31 mpg at 64 mph so if anything it's a tad better than before.

End result... I can't believe the tune that Ford lets these beasts roll off the floor with. I love everything about my Stang, but that is simply unacceptable unless you're over 80 years old. lol

I will keep you posted if I get anymore weird shift hangs like before but I have a sneaky suspicion that now that my Stang isn't "overthinking" like a woman in a shoe store, I'm going to be one seriously happy camper from here on out!
