2013 v6 mustang help!!!

Ok guys so this is my first thread and post ever but i have a few concerns about the performance of my pony. I have a 3.7 v6 mustang with several mods. I have a jlt cai..bbk shorty headers.2.5 custom h pipe exhaust with flowmasters axlebacks..bama 93oct race tune. Solid one piece aluminum drive shaft. Sr lowering springs. Slotted rotors and performance pads. Buuuut. My pony performance is rather subpar. My 0 to 60 is always over 6.5 sec.. Quarter mile is over 14 sec.... I have made several runs and passes it does not improve. Im at sea level and humidity is a factor but shouldnt cause this much loss of performance ?? Anyone has any idea what may be going on? Anyone experience the same?

Much better out there, but what's definitely odd. Stock, these cars are way faster than what you are getting. Even unprepped.

This might be insulting but is traction control and stability control off when you're at the strip? My 2013 PP Pony with similar mods is sluggish unless you turn the nannies off. Just a thought!

Yup.. Traction control off .. And i hook it quite well.. But the darn pony wont produce what it should be considering the mods it has.. It does have still 2.73 gears.. Ill be going 4.10 soon...

The 2.73's are killing your 60 foot times. I'll bet you run the 1/4 mile in 3 gears, right? Are you power braking at the line, and then it feels like it bogs when it takes off? = 2.73's.

Gears sounds like the culprit.
Those 2.73 are horrendous for performance, but great for fuel milage.

The hot temperature also does not help you at all. It means less dense air and less oxygen. The PCM will feed less gasoline correspondingly. Hence your HP is lower.

Also make sure you are on a level ground, with no extra weight in your cabin, and have your tank 1/4 or less full.

1. Your rims and tires are very heavy
2. Your gears are killing you
3. I see you're lowered, but no mention of control arms or relocation brackets? This will cost you time if you dont have them.
4. You have a "long" mod list, but really your only power mods that i see are the shorty headers and "tune." You say custom H pipe, but do you still have cats?

Gears for sure, and some LCAs will help prevent wheel hop and get a better launch.

Hmm I would love to put my Pony up against yours just to see what the difference is between being stock and having your mods.

Even though I have been talking about getting 5.0, My sixxer does not feel slow like you are making yours out to be. Maybe we could meet up and give each other a couple of runs (In mexico of course....)

Then perhaps drive each others car to see the difference. Maybe there is something wrong with your tune, I have no clue though being mine is still stock but visual upgrades and an axle back exhaust.

Even with a tune, depending on how he elected to have the shift firmness set can cost 10ths in the 1/4. If he's got a soft transmission setting, then really the only power mod he has is the shorty headers.

Yes, they say for every pound of usprung weight converts to 10 pounds of sprung weight. If your wheels weigh 35 lbs and you upgrade to some 25 lb wheels, it's the equivalent of taking 200 lbs off your car. I have felt the difference and it's very true, especially on launch.

I'm guessing you have an automatic---If so -Try this

Lower the rear tire pressure to 24 lbs.
Raise the front to 45lbs.
If your on a drag strip, DO NOT GO THROUGH THE WATER Street tires are awful when wet.
Leave the traction control "ON"
Do not hold the brake and try to keep up the revs but just feather it off the line and add throttle fast and smooth.
With your mods you should be in the mid to low 13's in the quarter.

If your trying to time your self with a stop watch, You are never going to get a correct time for 0 to 60 ft times. It takes the Chrondike timers at the drag strip to give perfect times. A stopwatch just don't cut it.

Post your time slip to see where the problem lies. Also DA will affect your time enormously and way more than you think.

Do you have any info or opinion on the accuracy of the track apps?

My Opinion

Track apps are as accurate as a stop watch.
You may be doing a little better or worse then you think you are.
Go to your nearest drag strip and run your car, It is fun and you really can get hooked on drag racing. It can be addictive.
Only then will you get a 100% correct time and miles per hour in writing.

Number 1 on your list is what kills my time, I can't get anything better than a 13.5. I see people with stock rims running better than me on the track with the same mods 😒

Gears, & rims with driver mod will help, I don't drag race but run thru the twisty's a lot. I replaced my stock 17's with American Racing 18x9" and lost 4 lbs per corner and use a 26" tire wider than stock, see sig.

What you need to honestly do is go to MPT, send them your info, have a goodnight sleep and in the morning load the tune and get back to us😏👌🏻

Op, if you want the best bang for buck do a gear change, it transforms your car into a beast.
2.73s should have never been standard on our Mustangs and will make your car feel like a tank.
Best Mod I've done!

Stock rims and tires are probably somewhere around 50 lbs unsprung weight per wheel, which is a lot.
