Flip Down License Plate Holder?

So I finally, finally got rid of the ugly dealer installed license plate bracket on the front of my car, and I purchased the manual flip up license plate bracket from AM to take it's place. Has anyone installed this with the Roush chin spoiler? It looks like you are supposed to drill underneath the bumper with the stock spoiler, but the Roush spoiler covers everything to the splash guard. I really don't want to drill three more holes through the spoiler to get to the bumper...or am I missing something?

I ended up taking mine off after I installed my roush front splitter. It really does make it challenging to mount inconspicuously and still flip out and up. I am probably going to get the stow and go one and stow it 99% of the time and the other 1% when I get pulled over for it. I have been pulled over once in 31k and the state trooper let me go with a warning.

So glad we don't require front plates here, they are so hideous

Bummer, I was kind of afraid someone would say that :/. I would consider trying to see how long I could go without it, unfortunately I live about 2 miles from two very popular places for cops (McDonalds and Chik-Fil-A) and I pass cops pulling out of there all the time. Probably wouldn't take me long to get a ticket...

Well I drive 700-800 miles a week and have only been pulled once.

I'm sure you can rig something up but you will have to play with it. I originally mounted mine to the splash pan.

How did yours hold up mounted to the splash panel? Did you have an other support? I considered mounting the bracket to the splash panel, but wasn't sure how sturdy that would be. With the honey comb grille one could probably zip tie the bracket for extra support, problem is I have Cervini's lower grill 😓

I just put a metal support on the inside and made sure it screwed to that for support. You will see when you get yours. It comes with just a generic metal piece for fabricating a mounting point.

Regardless of how you do it, keep in mind the bracket is going to be the lowest point on your front end. If you hit something at high speed and have it backed with a steel plate, it may cause more damage than 3 screw holes in the plastic.
Case in point, nice day, cruising on the highway and car in front of me swerves. I had traffic on one side and no where to go on the other. Blown piece of tire tread right in the middle of the d@mn lane. Caught it with the plate and it ripped it right off with minor scuffing. New holder and plate, 3 larger screws and I was good to go.
Good luck!

Good point. Did you have the bracket mounted underneath to your bumper?
