AirAid Track Day Air Filter

Has anyone tried this? AirAid has come out with filters used specifically for the track. They claim it produces more airflow than the regular filter it comes with.

Airaid Mustang Track Day Air Filter 700-458TD (11-14 V6) - Free Shipping

Insight would be appreciated!

If it is supposed to be better than the one they have on their kits why wouldn't they just provide it in their kits lol

Good lord now we have "specific" racing filters. Lmao I have seen it all now. This is officially dumb.

You can run a fkn mesh screen on the street depending on your application.

I know there is a mesh screen. That's what the 2nd part of my post was relating to.
Usually ran on a turbo or a centri blower so you do not have to have the intake tube and or a actual cone Filter. MAF is usually located in the intercooler.

AirAid Track Day Air Filter

Then there will be track day lug nuts and track day light bulbs. Hell, they might even make track day air for your tires. You know there's track day blinker fluid, that's a must when you track your car. Genius pure genius.

AirAid Track Day Air Filter

Just ordered my track day car cleaner. It makes the body a little more areo. So, I can go faster. Plus it gives an extra 5 hp. ☺️

Took it too far. Eh, I don't care.

Looking at your bio there is a few things you can do.

But if you want this specific "track day" filer get it. I'm sure bama can give you a good little retune for it 😆

lol I knew you were going to say that. Yeah, I'd rather take quality sound over performance anyway. Especially with the v6. LTs and no cats sound like SHIIIIEEET. And I have a tune already.

I guess the track version has better flow but worse filtration, so it will be bad to your engine.

They do make track lug nuts haha, but not that "track" :

Silver Forged Alloy Lugs

They're light as hell (all 4 probably weigh what 1 mustang lug does, whatever thats worth), but the open end lets the lug breathe too since the hubs get hot.
I understand 100% Where you were going with that comment, i think this filter is stupid too, but figured i'd just bust your chops a bit

It more than likely just has less filtration and is not CARB approved.

We have lightweight lug nuts on the Porsche. It was just something I thought of off the top of my head. Forgot about them when I posted that comment. I wouldn't call them racing lug nuts just lightweight. But yes a "race only" air filter is completely idiotic.

If you can wait I will be selling a set of ported upper/lowers out right for $300, no exchange or extra set of manifolds needed on your end. I just need to find the time to do them.
I'm not a business but I have done my personal set plus a few other sets for some people.
Coty Griffin (aka WhiteLightning) could comment on his set I did for him.
