Best time ever with my Mario

We drove up from Daytona Beach, Florida to Maple Grove, Pennsylvania in my 2012 Mustang MCA Premium automatic.

We drove to the Best Western in Annapolis,Maryland after leaving Florida at 3:AM Thursday Morning. Got there about 5M and checked in. Ate supper and got a good nights sleep.
We could have got there sooner if Mario did not want to stop at every "REST AREA" he seen. He can't read but he sure knows what the "Rest Area 1 Mile " sign say's.
We also had about a three hours of driving stop and go in Waldorf ,Maryland to go a little over ten miles that was not fun.
Friday morning we got up and drove on up to the Best Western in Shillington Pa. which is only about 8 miles from Maple Grove Raceway Park. I checked in and my reservations were for Friday and Saturday night. We stayed here last year and it is a perfect place to stay for the show on Saturday.
There must have been a million Mustangs in that parking lot Friday night and it was Mustang Party time, Mike, one of the Forum members recognized Mario and handed me a clod beer. I guess you figured out by now that Mario is my Dog. He is a Corgi and loves to ride in the Mustang. It was a great night at the "BEST WESTERN"

Got up early Saturday morning and met up with fellow Mustang Evolution Members and convoyed to the show. They parked on the tarmac and I went to the handicap area.
Shun1 came by and hollered so I followed them to a great parking spot. Right on the road across from some food vendors. We watched the parade of a few thousand Mustangs rolling in and it was great.
My Friend Nick rode his Harley down from New York to meet up with me and Mario. I have not seen him for about five years and I'm happy he came. They had Motorcycle parking inside the gate in a secure spot out of the way which was really truly nice of American Muscle to even think about let alone to provide.

We walked around and checked out the vendors as well as some cars on the tarmac and I took Mario back to rest for a while. ( Actually -It was me that had to rest) The cancer may be gone but I sure do get tired fast.

I just love how so many people seeks Mario out and came by to visit with him. It is a wonder he has any hair left from everybody petting him so much.

It was a great day and My friend Nick who has been to just about every car show ever from New York to California could not believe how good this one day show was. He never know that you could have a show this huge with only a single brand of car. (MUSTANGS ONLY) He has a ZR1 Corvette but is now thinking of a Boss 302 Ha! Ha!
We stayed until a little after five and went back to the Best Western. Of course I stopped by KFC and got some Chicken legs and fry's on the way.
Although not as huge but still good was the Mustang show in the parking lot.

We got a nice nights sleep and headed out Sunday morning. I headed down towards Elkton,Maryland to freeload off my friend Tom for the rest of the week.

We left Toms house Saturday morning and drove to Santee,South Carolina and got there about 6PM. I checked in and we walked across to Churche's Fried Chicken for a Breast and fry's. Then to the pool, Then to bed.

Up Sunday morning and on the road to Daytona (Really Port Orange) and home.

It was a great trip. Great Show, Meeting fellow forum members was really awsum and I just can't wait until next year.

I will put away my Mustang Evolution Shirt for next year. I already started saving up some $$$$$ and gotta add, This is one of the most unique and best shows in the world. It is only about 3,500 to 4,000 cars bus the cars are only one single brand. "MUSTANGS ONLY" The show is in August and I'm sure that the 15,000 plus people that were there, enjoyed every minute of it.
The 2,000 or so Mustangs that were in the spectators lot were a good show of it's own.

Here are a few pictures: I did not take enough but you can see a few things We did like Mario checks out all of the Motel Beds while I take stuff out of the Mustang.

Here is a copy of my driving expenses.

Mario just "LOVES" the passenger seat.

I hear not one single complaint from him.

Gotta say, the Mustang is a pretty comfortable cruiser for long distances.

Just got back from the Hamptons tonight which was a 4.5 hour drive each way in it (with the typical insane traffic each way).

The traffic always reminds me why I love automatic transmissions.

Hi rmb427r

Yes, You can still drive on a lot of it right now but the county and city officials just got their palms greased pretty good and are turning parts of the beach over to the large hotels for no driving zones. They should n be arrested but you know that ain't gonna happen.
I don't even go over to the beach side anymore but I still care about the beach driving that people enjoy.

I always hated the Long Island Expressway

It was bad with traffic back in the 70's and I'm betting it is probably way worse now.
It used to be called the world longest parking lot but maybe the Mexican Border has it beat for traffic.
Waldorf Maryland 301 and I-95 going south from Washington is bad too.
I'm sure happy to live where I live. (LESS TRAFFIC"

Whats your Corgi's name?
I hope your buddy will enjoy car shows as much as my Mario. I hope you can do the AM show next August so we can have our friends meet up.

Her name is roxy... She is a rescue from a kennel my step mom works for. She is part chihuahua and something else... I've had her almost 10 years now. I will definitely try and make it to the next American muscle car show. I would like to say my car is nearly finished, but they never are...

I did only get my Mustang half way through the summer but I did manage to squeeze one road trip to Duluth, MN in. Which is about 3 hours away. Our trip back was a little longer however that was because of the stupid driver that hit my car on the interstate and ran. -_-
However I did have a good time on that road trip, so next summer I am going to drive to Myrtle Beach for sure.

Hi Ipownyu

Myrtle Beach is OK if you like :
Expensive
Crowded
A large mix of all kinds of cars.
Heavy Traffic.
I had an OK time when I went but I'm telling you now that the American Muscle "ALL" Mustang show is only one day, but it sure is a great day. It really starts Friday at the Motels. The Best Western was just plain jumping Friday and again Saturday nights.
It is perfect if you can do both, but most people can only do one or the other.

So about 6 months ago I made the move from Houston tx to central Florida and in my '10 gt with an avg speed around 80mph I managed to avg 24-25 mpg. Just for reference for y'all with a v6 auto. I'm a manual transmission I might add.
