Magnaflow Competition Exhaust

I am looking for thoughts of the Magnaflow Comp catback exhaust with 4.5inch tips, as of right now I have Tridents, which I love, but here very soon I am completely redoing my exhaust, to compliment my Mac lt headers, I will be buying and installing a mac propipe, vibrant resonators, flowmaster mini cats, and I will be needing over axle pipes. I am thinking with all of the stuff I am swapping out, a deeper sounding exhaust may sound better. But as far as I can tell, I cant find any vids of this exhaust with lt headers, anyone have any experience with them?

I already have 3"high flow cats, 2.5 Mac lt headers, and an 2.25 xpipe, it couldnt possibly be worse than that. All the vids I have watched have a nice rumble to them, so far.

The comps sound good at idle on any car. Now a WOT it's raspy and a lot of noise. They are a straight through muffler. As others have said the streets are what your looking for

Alright, I'll look them up right fast, so is the comp series the "atak" equivalent of magnaflow and the street series "s-types"

Yea you are right, the street series is more along the lines of what I need. I may just have me an over axle made for me first with the tridents and see how that works out, then I can always just buy the axlebacks later.

If this is the magnaflows your talking about don't buy them you will regret it. I installed them on my car and drove it to work and back home 100 mile trip. The drone was unbeaunbearable, and thats with the stock midpipe. I tried them with the mac shorties and stock manifolds headache city. My car sounded like a import with a potato shooter on the back. A few members on this site warned me but I purchased them anyway.

I had a lethal H pipe with the magnaflow comp catback and it was raspy over 3K. Under that it was really deep but sounded like crap over 3K. Added resonators to tame the rasp and it helped but these are not the best choice to compliment a loud exhaust setup.

Ok, in that case, other than the insanely expensive borlas, what other exhaust sounds really good on our cars, and has a decent deep sound to it?

Ford racing axle backs sound good with a off-road lethal h pipe but I don't know what you could do with those long tubes because they are going to be loud and raspy with any axle backs I would think.

I'm running pypes m80s and I love the sound. Granted they are currently the only exhaust mod I have. I don't know much about how exhaust sounds work, but, I think my quad tips add a slight tone to my note. I'm not sure.

I'm well aware you mentioned those, and I have already looked at them, I was looking for more suggestions, other than just one set of axlebacks, I like to weigh my options if I am going to spend the money again for new axlebacks.

I have these Magna comps with lethal performance o/r h-pipe and let me tell u something they are LOUD which is a good thing to me but then I started feeling that they are too raspy so I've installed an 18'' resonators which gave me exactly the sound I was looking for. However, with a LT header I don't think that they are ur best option. I think with your setup it would be either Borla stingers or Magnaflow street

MAC Axle Back Exhaust is really nice, deep and loud when you want it to be. They don't pop and crackle above 3k but below 3k they do but is very mild.

I had Pypes and to me with the Sixxer's it makes the car sound like a Honda Civic with a fart cannon and this coming from an import owner as well. Went "dumped" for a few weeks waiting for my MAC's to come in and that is way to loud and raspy, literally every gear you will get pop and crackling noise no matter how high or low the RPM's are at. Which was cool for a little bit but got old quick.

Really clean chrome and the welds are fantastic. The fitment was spot on as well. They are a bit heavy but not as heavy as the stockers.

RTR street axlebacks are good, expensive though.

LOVE my Magnaflow Streets... not obnoxiously loud and a very nice deep exhaust note. I can't stress enough of how well the quality is and how nicely they fit. No popping or drone.

I will add that you should shop around. I got mine for $100 cheaper than AM and was brand new in manufacturer box.

I have the full catback magnaflow comps with the ford racing x-pipe. I have zero drone and it doesn't sound like a rice rocket.

Anyone have any experience with Bassani exhaust on our 3.7s? I watched a vid of one with lt headers and it sounded decent, so far the Magnaflow streets are looking like the way to go.
