Tuners

Ok dumb question here. I've never dealt with a tuner and I have honestly no idea what I would do with it when I bought let alone which one to buy. So I guess my question is which one is the best bang for my buck and how do I use it?

SCT x4 is a good one. Bama, Steeda, and MPT are the popular choices with the 3.7. Usually when you buy it, they will load the initial 2-3 tunes onto the device for you. So all you gotta do is plug the device into your car and load the tunes.

That's what these forums are for. I have been running Bama for almost 3 years, the reason I went with them is they have the free tunes for life, so any mods i add later down the road I can get a revised tune at no charge.

Lol. So theoretically, could I use someone else's tuner or does that not work?

Negative, you need your own tuner.

Trevor
It can work if the tuner is unmarried. Also you need to buy your own tunes. That is nonnegotiatable.

Never load someone else's tunes to your car unless you want to risk bricking it.

MPT sells tunes at $70 each or you can get Bamas tunes for life at $150.

For my 2011, i bought an unmarried sct x3 off someone for $200. And an MPT tune for $70. So I spent $270 in the end. Because all I need is a good 93R tune. If i want fuel economy, I will switch back to Ford's stock tune. Lol
