Has anyone installed dual tip exhaust tips?

I was thinking that I could possibly get the quad tip look by simply having dual tips welded onto my existing mufflers. Has anyone done this? I would most likely need the Magnaflow template or create a template myself. I've found some really nice looking stainless tips on ebay that are staggered. What do you guys think? About $100 worth of tips vs $550 plus for a catback?

I parked by a Mustang the other day that did this...it didn't look good. They had to make the exhaust openings a little bigger to fit the duals, then the tips looked very small. A single 3.5"-4" tip looks better. Just do what I did, get the GT 500 exhaust and valance. It looks great and sounds even better.

I bought a 2014 GT500 quad tip catback today. From what I've heard, they'll sound better than my Dynomax catback and I'll get the look I want.

How did you have yours installed? Did you use the stock muffler pipes and have them welded on?

So, if you want to change up, you'll have to cut them off?

Yeah for now. I plan on changing the OTA pipes with a GT and then I'll get another quad tip AB with the proper clamps. I'll never get rid of the quad tip, it looks great.

Looks like the inside tips sit underneath the valance.

I put the OE GT500 twin tip mufflers and valance on myself as I have a 14 GT.
I love the sound of my GT500 mufflers and also used the stock exhaust forward of the mufflers. I don't care for loud and obnoxious...not my style.
If you have an 11 I would take off the lower valance, put the mufflers on and then refit your lower valance and trim where needed. I could measure the opening on mine if you like. I have a picture somewhere showing the GT500 valance with the OE single tip muffler.
Let me know how I can help.

Man, your car looks nice! Yes, please measure the opening for me. That would help a ton! Thanks!

I can give you a measurement with the width and height....do you want me to reference it from a known point like the corner of the trunk or somewhere else that should be same on either your 11 or my 14?

Hmmm, how bout total width of the opening, width from inside the outer edge of each tip to the corresponding side of the valance and height from inside edge of the top part of each tip to the edge of the valance. I hope that makes sense.

I have a full custom 3" catback system. I have an O/R X-pipe with resonator delete to some flowmasters welded to some quad tips. I love it lol

Before you order from any place take a look at this price for the conversion;

EXHAUST KIT QUAD TIP MGT 2013-14

I have put one on mine and two other Mustangs...the kit works great.

Hey Jeremy,

I totally forgot and now I'm in Phoenix. Can you remind me on Saturday and when I get home...first thing I will do is open the garage and measure it like I promised.

Do the Single tip GT500 AB sound similar to Quad GT500 AB's? I had this question lingering in my mind for a while now.
