Clearly some in here have no idea what all is involved to operate a company that does millions of dollars in sales per year or any concept of cost accounting. Are they profitable? Of course. But I assure they do not have profit margins in the 90+%.

One example is labor. Borla's size says they have between 51-200 employees. If you assume an average salary of 40,000 which isn't unreasonable if you average that is between 2 and 8 million in labor alone. Excluding payroll taxes, benefits, etc. these are the types of costs that your average consumer has no clue about unless you really think about it because when you get
The product you assume just the cost of metal and manufacturing.

Agreed, but that can also be said about any other employer with the same labour costs that offer their products at a much lesser cost. Anyone who thinks that a 700$ + price tag is a legit one for a set of abs is nuts.
Again if Borla's sales plummeted you think they would just go out of business? Their cost would have to become competitive with their competitors and they would survive just fine.
Look at companies like ford or Gm that have hundreds of thousands of employees and make billions each year, when they have a hit in sales what do they do, offer incentives to customers and rebates to try and move more product, they still make a killing. Supply and demand.

It would be nice to have the parts for our cars a little more affordable! You should check the prices up here in Canada!!! Almost double!! And even when we purchase from the States right now with our exchange rates and shipping... almost double again! Lol

I think you ment this statement to be Vice Versa...I will pay the higher prices of meat as its just the way things have inflated over the years. Gas too. because you HAVE to drive to get most anywhere these days you have to just shut up and pay up at the pump.

thing is for things you DONT need...like EVERY aftermarket car part out there. You shouldn't have to pay the high prices. Your right these are all things we WANT and dont NEED, but like what fast Ford had said because of all the people who keep buying these parts for the prices they will keep charging. Sad thing is if no one buys a certain part at the price the company wants. rather than lower it so they can sell them, they just drop it off their available parts lists.

One thing i will say to defend the pricing is you also get a piece of mind. The fact that this company has paid to have these products tested and made that if they dont work right , dont fit or something goes wrong as a result of their product you can take it back and get some reimbursement too.

This has been a good rant though. Glad im not the only one who feels this way.

We have actually looked into moving into the U.S.. unbelievably hard! And Canadian citizens can't apply for the lottery (they pick your name). And unless you are sponsored by a company that requires your skills and the job can't be filled by a current USA citizen, you are SOL.

I just came back:
- 1 Gallon of organic milk: $8.49 before tax.
- 1 dozen organic eggs: $4.99 before tax.

I agree with the OP, that many of the aftermarket parts are over-priced. On the other hand, if all of the aftermarket parts cost less than $20, your hobby is probably not modding a Mustang anymore. People feel happy when spending their money.
