Thanks, guys! I should be able to hit the exhaust shop next week. Between work and birthdays this weekend, I had to get this done. Picked up GT over axle pipes yesterday, so all I have to do now is get it to the shop.

Hey Ponnie if you dont mind me asking but what all is needed to do this conversion and how much did it cost?

I know there is probably 100 and 1 threads with this question but since you are the most recent person on here to do it I figured to ask anyways.

I love my MAC's but quad tips are just so sexxxxxy, mhmmm love how they are staggered too!

Don't mind at all.
$300 GT500 axle back
$75 GT over axle pipes
$75 quote from exhaust shop
$0 cutting the rear valance lol

Could have gotten Magnaflow axle back, but cheapest I've seen is $538. Plus, I don't really care for the sound. I've listened to numerous GT500 setups and really like the sound. There is no valance available for '10-12's that I'm aware of.

You could also find just a standard axel back setup you like the sound of and weld on some quad tips, thinking of doing this myself.
Something like this:

Oh ok. I didn't know there wasn't a valance.

Those look like the inner tip wouldn't come out far enough. I had thought about getting just tips, but I didn't wanna cut up any existing exhaust I had in case it didn't turn out right.

Thanks Ponnie! Damn I should of gone down that route instead of spending $375 on the MAC's but perhaps a future setup!

Nothing wrong with changing things up when you can. Just sell your Mac exhaust when you're ready and use that to fund the next one.

Yea I hear ya Ponnie! More than likely that'll be the plan. Be sure to post up some exhaust videos, I know there are some already out there but again you are the most recent person to do it.

A few videos is definitely the plan. I'm also going to ask the exhaust shop if I can take some good pics of the exhaust underneath the car while it's on the lift. I think it will help quite a few people that are wanting to do this if they can see exactly how it'll need to be put together. It definitely would have helped me out, but I know many have done it so I'm going ahead with it. I plan to take several pics from where the over axles tie in up front and all the way back. Next week can't get here soon enough lol.

I wanted to get more pics, but these guys don't mess around. They are quick and I didn't wanna hold them up. Now, about this setup. What I have is BBK off-road x-pipe, GT over axle pipes and 2013 GT500 quad axle back (stock headers).

Pros:
1. Sound is VERY deep.
2. Rasp is darn near 100% gone (that I can tell from inside the car).
3. Quad tips, of course! lol
4. Exhaust note is extremely clean, smooth and throaty.
5. Nowhere near as much popping after revving.

Cons:
1. The mufflers are low compared to my cutout (used the Magnaflow template). I tried to get the guys to raise them up a tad, but the owner said the pipes were too close to the gas tank. The other guy showed me and there's at least 3/4". I'll figure something out. May get a GT valance and make a new cutout. We'll see.
2. Drone: these mufflers do have some drone under load. I started out cruising on the highway between 70-75 mph and the exhaust was rather quiet. 2100-2200 rpm (3.31 gears). I had to slow down quite a bit due to heavy rain. Between 1800-2000 rpm, there is drone under load. I don't mind this because I can now hear my car again on the highway lol.

I will try to get some videos up as soon as I can. I know a video won't do this exhaust justice. It is SOOOO much cleaner and refined than anything else I've heard! I love it! Ford should have used this as OEM on the V6, without a doubt! I bet they would have sold a ton more.

Man they do hang a little too low. Hmm what would be the best bet for that? I feel like the valence may not help but who knows maybe it would.

Other than that though man they "sound" like they are awesome! Drone is incredibly hard to get rid of, kinda of expected to be honest.

I love the way they look from the top view. Real clean the staggered look.

I'm gonna try to loosen things up to see if I can get the mufflers to swivel at the ball joint. We'll see what happens. Worst case, I may have to try another exhaust shop that's willing to raise them up for me. They do look pretty good from the top view. I was worried they would stick out too far, but they sit nicely. My first report was based on my drive home from the shop. I had my back seats down because I was carrying my stock exhaust. Drone has been reduced by putting the seats back up. Once I figure out how to fix the cutout issue, I'll be extremely happy. I couldn't be happier with the sound. I was stunned at how deep and clean it is. Almost hard to believe my car is a V6.
I did try to get a video, but apparently my video camera battery is no good. Gonna try to get the gf to take a video later tonight for you guys.

Did those GT over axle pipes come with the resonators I see in the pics?
Not familiar with the GT exhaust setup.

Yes, they are part of the stock GT pipes. I think they help a lot with how this sounds.

Looks much better...Ive been curious to hear how the GT over-axle pipes make or Sixers sound. Is the mic on the video camera better than your phone? I try not to get sound videos with my phone the bass tones dont seam to come out very well

I dont get why people do that anyway. Its on your car, you drive it around for strangers to see as it is.

Although those tips may be set a bit lower than usual, I think they still look fine the way they are.
