Ecowhoops vs v6

Question: why did ford put the v6 as a rental special? And why are ppl willing to spend thousands more on a 4 cylinder than a 6 cylinder that u can slap on a sc and you're done?

Money for money, mod for mod, the ecoboost will walk the v6 sideways, no questions asked, thats why.

It makes more horsepower, more torque, gets the same MPG if not better WITH a higher rear gear stock. I love the v6, ours is a lot of fun, but the Ecoboost is the better engine.

There is no doubt about it the ecoboost is a better car overall. I might be a little bias though being that I came from an 03 evo so I dig the 4 banger turbo. But the thing that ford did that pissed me off was offer the ecoboost as a premium. They should have made it as a base model with lower hp and tq than the v6 and leave the rest to aftermarket. Can you just guess how well the ecoboost would have sold if it was cheaper than the v6. How many rwd sports cars could you buy for right around 20g and it wouldn't have been hard to make it have high 200's hp and tq which would have bettered their overall mpg but eh what do I know.

Ford offers the ecoboost in base and premium. Its just seems like dealerships keep the premium ones in stock. The base models start at around 23-24 so if you catch a good deal you can get one for around 20. I've already seen dealers offer 2-3 k in rebates or 0% financing on the 2015's. Just a matter of time before its offered on the 16's especially with the new Camaro's coming out.

Time will tell how well the eco4bang wears and lasts. I'll gladly keep my V6--sometimes that seems like the only part of the car that's built well. LOL.

I'm saying MSRP a base ecoboost cost more than a base v6 why not price it under a v6 and make the ecoboost the "base" mustang with less power than the v6 make the v6 the mid entry and the hi end the 5.0 kinda like what chevy is doing with their Camaro

Chevy has it positioned as good, better, best. But ford has the v6 and eco boost as equals basically although they are clearly pushing the Eco. Really not that big of a difference in HP. The Camaro has a 50 hp difference between the 4 and 6 where ford is only like 15. At the end of the day the Eco base is only like 400 more then an equal v6

I could have sworn ive seen a thread like this already...but yes as stated before the Ecoboost is just better equipped out of the gate. Forged internals built to handle boost, engine compartment and placement is already there for any upgrades to the intercooler (intercooler or inter-cooler?) system and because its already there you dont have to re-position and wedge things around for it all to fit.
