I'm confused. I thought stock center caps didnt fit AM's rims?

I tried taking the center caps from my oem 19s and put them in the black 19s i got from AM, but they were too small.

Idk how a big hammer would do anything if the center cap is too small, it would just fall through.

Unless on his set of rims, the oem center cap is larger. However, one would think AM would make all of their center caps the same overly large size.

Another plasti dip thread.

Oh, never mind. I thought the AM wheels had the smaller hole.

It doesn't actually fall through, the problem is the back side of the oem center cap isn't quite long enough to snap into place, its like a 1/4" too short so when you press it in it wants to pop back out. What I did or tried to do was remove the round ring on the center cap and silicone them in, but I'm not optimistic it will hold. 😳 Im voing to test the adhesision this morning, it it fails or hasn't bonded I'll remove them and replace the with AM ones that came with them.
If the oem caps were just a little longer they would snap right in, but that would be too easy! Lol

You need the larger center caps off an 03-04 Cobra Wheel...the AM wheels use the same center size as the 07-09 GT 500 OEM wheels had. so to have the tri bar pony you need to get the larger size caps

Isn't there a gloss coat you can buy for that stuff now? The matte look seems cheap. But if it had a gloss finish, it would seem more professional imo.

But in his pic, the paint(?) looks very smooth and clean. So props to that.

Its pretty durable. When I originally bought these from am I wanted the matte black, but they only had the gloss black which I'm not a fan of, but I liked the old school 5 spoke design.
It gives it a more steath look then the chrome finish Imo.

You going to change your stripe color now? Black wheels and the white stripe don't look good together imo.

I drove cross country last year in May with my wheels plasti dipped. 4 coats on each tire. Went through hot dessert, 20* mountains and they held all the way until just July of this year. I had to use a pressure hose to loosen it up and then peel it off. Adds good salt protection to the wheels too
