Anyone using Mac shorty headers?

AM has them on sale and with the forum discount, they'd be right at $259. Pros? Cons?

I think you already know but here's my

Pros
Lowest price.
Easier to install than the BBKs.
Cons
As stated on AM page, "This MAC Performance product is not legal for use in emission restrictive states." Meaning it's not CARB approved.
Being chrome, they will release more heat into the engine bay then the ceramic coated.

Some people like the discoloration of the chrome and some don't.

Being chrome doesn't really bothered me. My state doesn't have inspection. So, looks like it may be a good deal for me? Hmmm...

Didn't I just see your post advising someone to skip the headers and go for the gears?

I have the PP, so I'm not swapping gears.

When you plan on selling the car in the future, do consider these illegal mods in some states. As this may turn away buyers from out of your area.

If this is not a concern and you have no emissions inspection, then you are good. Just remember, you are killing us. Lol!!!!!!

Lol I hear ya! I don't plan on getting rid of this car. Hopefully, I'll be getting a '15 or '16 within a year or so and this one will remain my daily. Then when my son is old enough and hopefully responsible enough, this will be his first ride.

I also agree. I got 3.31s on my manual 2011. I feel they are ok and not worth paying almost $1000 in my area to swap them to say maybe 3.55.

Did the gear swap on my Auto 2014. Not going through all that again.

And I don't want to read about you going through all that again.

I had fitment issues with the macs on the passenger side and returned them. They wouldn't line up with the collector. Wasn't even close.

I believe there have been others to comment on this misalignment problem. However, I don't think it has been a common one. There has been a lot of threads on header installs. You may want to check them out.
I know when I installed my BBK headers, I had to jack up(I worked alone) the exhaust piping at the X-pipe to reconnect to the headers to the mid pipe.
Hell, I remember someone had a problem with the headers not aligning to the engine exhaust ports. But I don't think that is very common. In fact that was one of the reason I originally liked BBK, as they have their 3 flanged connections connected to each other, while the MAC are not.
But then again the MAC are easier to access the engine bolts/nuts, particularly that famous passenger side, closest to the firewall, nut.

Yeah, in some instances, individual flanges can be better. Also, I don't think I've ever had exhaust parts just bolt right up to each other. There's almost always some adjusted to be made. I remember I had to push up on my BBK off-road x-pipe to get it lined up to the header on one of the sides.
