Brake Cooling Kit

Anyone here ever fabricated a brake cooling kit? I don't like the kits where I loose my lower fogs and I don't want to cut a 3" hole in my lower grille. Thinking on intake side, fabricating an inner mount/intake will be easy enough. But the rotor mount is another story. Anyone make anything or see the rotor cooling kit mounts for sale anywhere less the kit? This one (JLT Performance JLTBCK GT500 Brake Cooling Kit | eBay) isn't too bad on price but I'm in a "makin' mood"!

If you just need the Dust shield / backing plates, use these:

Vorshlag S197 3" diameter Brake Duct Backing Plates (Pair) - Vorshlag LLC

Thanks Volt. Actually it turns out JLT Performance is half an hour from my office. I have a plan to convert the lower faux intake below the fog light to a functional air scoop for the brake. Just need a premade backing plate similar (hopefully cheaper) than the Vorshlag set.

Dumb question, but do they really get hot enough to actually worry about? Just wondering..

If you track the car yes. Even spirited street driving isn't going to cause you much trouble as "spirited" on the street is often pretty tame by racing standards. However, overkill is what I'm shooting for. That and another weekend project to keep me out of trouble.

Hey I think little premium type parts will be "Finance Commitee" approved. You can pick up a Premium cluster for 100-150 at a junkyard or car-parts.com. Steering wheel button is like $50. VCM II tool is like $125-$150.

If you want foot well lights, I wired up some LED strips which costed me like $10. haha. If you like the chrome inner door handles, those run $40-$50 or so each.

Nothing too crazy. Unless you want leather seats. Those probably cost the most.

LOL Kevin. Few more mods to go before I'm "perfect" in my eyes. Have the transmission cooling scoop en bound. Gears next (which keep getting bumped) then that may be it. Started working on five year budgets and realized I'm going to need to get myself, *cough*, I mean my son, something in two years.
