2014 Convertible with sloshing in drivers side rear quarter

Anyone else with a convertible ever experience this? After a lot of rain I noticed sloshing sound in the rear drivers quarter.

happens in regular coupes too. apparently there's something where there's a bad weld under the wheel well and water gets in there and can't drain.

i heard it a lot last year, but then i guess mine drained somehow...then i started hearing it a lot again after rain, and i realized my drain plugs in my doors were still in...so i removed them, and tons of water came out, and it was clogged to all hell with gunk..so i removed gunk, drained, and kept the plugs out.

now i don't hear it as much. either way, check your doors, then if that's not it, maybe you have the issue where it's in the wheel well area.

Checked the door and that's not the source so I'm betting it's the wheel well. Going to take it to the dealer since they have the airbag recall.

yeah, tell me what happens. they still wouldn't replace my airbags. my warranty is up in april so i'm gonna bring it before then to check out water slosh and to check out the rattling annoying rearview mirror.

Will do. It's going in next week. They told me the same thing about the airbag. I've also noticed the piping on the passenger side has rubbed through. Click image for larger version

Are these the plugs in the doors that your referring to? I washed my car this morning and saw these and hope they are the ones that need to be pulled.

Yes. Those drain the door. The ones in my Expedition get clogged every once in a while and you can hear the trapped water. Just pull them out and the door will drain.

Dealer just got back to me and confirmed it was a seam that wasn't sealed. It has been sealed and drains cleared.

Go to the Ford Service FB site and post your issue. I was contacted that same day by a rep who escalated my problem with my dealer. I explained I would need a loaner and they provided me with a rental. I actually have to go back when the new top comes in. Although I was disappointed to have these issues with a new car I must say the service has been excellent.

Well got in the car this AM and the sloshing is back. The car hasn't been driven in six days and we've had some rain so that rules out the seams. I hope they don't pay their water specialists a lot $$$. Call in to dealer.

happens to my car too anytime there's hard rain.

what i think you're hearing is the doors. i notice tons of sloshing when i first get in after sitting in a hard rain, and it goes away. then i notice i have minor sloshing in the quarter panels which is def the seems.

it's a mix of both, tbh. i took out my drain plugs completely bc when i did, it was disgusting. water came POURING out, and it was full of nasty gunk that clogged it up. now it flows freely.

I wish. Popped the rear seats and side panels only to find water once again. I enjoy the car but it's had more warranty work in just a few months than my old Acura did over 12 years. Hope it gets better.
