TUNER(s)!!

Hey I own a 2013 s197 mustang, bbk intake , bbk tb, bbk shorties, and roush axle back installed. I've been looking for a tuner online and have noticed there are so many brands! If anyone can recommend a tuner for this model, please leave a comment. I was initially set on the bama x4 tuner. What do you guys think? Thanks!!

You cannot go wrong with this: Bama SF4/X4 Power Flash Mustang Tuner w/ 2 Custom Tunes 101200 (11-14 V6) - Free Shipping

Get 50 posts and AM will give you a code which will take 6% off of that. Knocking it down to about $380. And that includes tune revisions for life.

I've heard enough bad things about Bama to know I will never use them. MPT is the way to go. They have more experience with the 3.7 than almost anyone else plus their customer support is superb

I use Steeda and am very happy with them. When I request an updated tune, I get it next day. I was in your shoes 6 months ago and researched everything I could. I guess it depends what you want, but I think as long as you go with a reputable company such as Steeda, Lund, MPT or BAMA (I heard a lot of good things on this forum so idk) I think you'll be alright. I chose Steeda because I just wanted a basic street tune to use with regular 87 octane and have yet to see a single negative review on them. Plus, it's my understanding that they work very closely with FORD so their tunes are very safe. I bought it coupled with the airaid CAI as a bundle to save some cash. Steeda is probably not the most aggressive tuner, but it makes me plenty happy and gives piece of mind knowing it's not really pushing the car to the limit - if I wanted that I'd get it dyno'ed at a speed shop. If cost is a factor, you can always buy the SCT x4 tuner (either new or used...up to you) and get a Lund tune for $75. If you see yourself adding more mods that require tuning down the road, maybe one of the "tunes for life" deals is a better choice. I know BAMA and Steeda both offer that. Let us know what you end up choosing!

As of now in leaning toward mpt only because I see that they specify that their tunes are for my 3.7. Plus tune for life!! But I will definitely let you guys know, and if you happen to know of any used ones please notify me!! I'm waiting for cyber Monday 😏

They don't have tunes for life? I thought it was a 6 month revision. Also any tuner tunes specifically for your year and engine..

I would go for MPT, been using them for about a year and really happy with there tunes. They will sometimes go past there 6 month revisions period. Best thing you can do is get the tune and do a datalog and send it in and they will tune to prefect your car for what ever needs you have. Also check out my signature that time was ran on a MPT tune with only gears and shorty headers on stock wheels.

any tuner will have tunes for the 3.7 (well 99.9%) they are engine specific. Used tuners can be a deal, but only if unlocked.

Last I checked Mpt doesn't have tunes for life. Revisions after 6 months are like 20$.
Also tuners like Bama, Mpt and Steeda offer their tunes specific to whatever engine your running, 3.7/5.0.

Guys obviously it's specifically for my car !! Ahah not tryna sound rude either. BUT what I was tryna say is that I've read they put so much work into tuning the 3.7, it beat the competitors when they tuner the 3.7. But thanks guys!!!! IMPORTANT:for those who don't know lol. If you reside in California, like myself. They don't deliver here. I asked why, they just said its policy. So I'm sending it to my cousins house in Nevada then he'll ship it to me. But thanks guys again!!!

Sorry! I thought I read that in another thread, but must've mixed it up. MPT has the $75 tunes. Apologies for the mixup.
