Odd question about interior part on 2011

So this may come off as a really off question but inside my 2011, I have the chrome ring around the manual shifter. It is extremely beat up. Is there a way to replace just this part? I tried looking everywhere but cannot find just the chrome bezel without buying a whole new center console/cup holder area.

I am definitely an advocate for keeping my cars as nice as possible and since this was beat up prior to me getting the car, it has been one of those little things bugging me.

Pic for example. This picture is not from my car.

I checked the one near me and all it had was old bumpkin cars. I was going to get it off Ford's website but it I cannot find this single piece to buy.

Yea eBay and craigslist have the console. I don't think you can just get the ring.

I thought about that too! But most of the ones on ebay are not MyColor, missing MS Sync badge, missing both, or they are in worse shape then mine. Plus, people aren't exactly dying to get a new cup holder area. So that would be $150-$200 I'd be down for X amount of time. Where X = months most likely. Lol

Buy eBay console, switch out the bezels, and resell for a few bucks less?

I thought about that also but all the consoles are in Used condition with pics not really zoomed in very well on the bezel. So no telling how scratched up it might be which you cannot see in the pic they offer. I tried asking 1 guy if he had better pics and he said what was in the post is what he had. That for the price being asked, they were not going to put a ton of effort into it -_-

Also, the turn around time for reselling such a part would take forever (assuming someone needs one as people aren't lining up for these). If I get one without MyColor, safe to say almost no one is going to want it. So I would have spent $150 or so on a little silver bezel.

they do have metallic paint

or you could just spend the $150 on meds and feel better about many things.

Haha. Well I was hoping since it is just a small part, I could get it for $20 or less. But it seems I will have to fork out more then I expected. So I might not be replacing it. Either spend money on gas to go out to junkyards out of my city and hope to find one. Or buy an entire new center console for $150 or so and wait 6 months or so for it to sell. And the buyer will most likely lowball the s*** out of me.

Just buy a cheap one and swap out the ring. I've seen them for like 99 bucks.

I wipe my butt with hundos

All joking aside, you have 2 options. Get boned because you want it to be 100% stock like new, or you remove that ring you have and get creative. Sand it and paint it DIB, wrap it, dip it, smack a hoe with it. Possibilities are endless.

I vote for this option. It'll really tie in your side scoops to the car.

Not really. Because the car is Kona blue. But I might be tempted on the option to smack a hoe with it. LOL!

It was a joke based on the DIB side scoop debacle.

Have you tried calling a Ford dealership to see what their parts team can come up with?

If you do spend the $150, you might be able to take the bezel and part out the rest of the console. Heck, if it comes with a good button for the console compartment, I'd buy it off of you...mine's scratched.

If I remember correctly, that ring is hot melted on. I could be wrong, been a while since I had it off but I'm pretty sure the plastic pegs from the console come through holes in that trim ring and are button shaped like a melt tool was used to secure it in place. Might not be the easiest part to replace. I was going to remove it when I carbon fiber vinyl'd the console but it wasn't worth it. Thought the plastic button could be ground off and then pilot hole drilled for a screw to reattach. Just seemed like a pita not to mention it's not the strongest piece either.
Good luck with whatever you try!

Thanks! I might just have to buy a new cup holder/shifter area in the future. I was hoping the chrome bezel would be available separately like it is with the Autos. Stinks, but no biggie.
