tire spin

Okay, for those who have successfully done this at a complete stop, how do you get em to spin? LOL. I tried this morning, full stop, rev till 3-4rpm, then tried launching but then the damn traction control kicked in. LOL. I took it off, retried and again no luck. I recently installed 19" bullitts. Anyway, any tips and tricks, let me know.

If you're on the stock tune. It won't allow it, even with AdvanceTrac off.

No, I am not on a stock tune, I am running procharger supercharger with stock 2.73 gears. Do I need to heat up the tires? LOL.

Heating them up makes them sticker. Did you just turn off Traction Control or the full AdvanceTrac? AdvanceTrac is turned off by being at a full stop, holding the brake, and then holding down the Traction Control button. If you did that, then your tune may not disable the stock "no burnout" function.

3.7L and 2.73 gears is my guess at the culprit, even with a tune/charger. Or the fact that you are dumping at 3-4k RPM. Ramp that sucker up and drop it at redline!

Also get 3.73s.

Remember back in the day when you had your 21 speed (or 10 speed if your parents sucked like mine) bike and you tried to start off in a high gear and how hard it was? Same principle. Also you are trying to spin at 3K with a 6 cyl. You are not even close to 400hp at that RPM and with a procharger your peak torque is probably more like 325 RWTQ.

I can light them up launching at 3k, no procharger required.πŸ˜›πŸ˜›πŸ˜›
Get rid of those god awful 2.73s!
You wanna have fun with your procharger go with 3.55s or 3.31s.

tire spin

Another thing to consider is what kind of tires do you have? You mentioned you just upgraded rims. If your trying to spin a 275+ tire with heavy rims and 2.73 gears that isnt a combination that's going to allow the tires to break loose that easily.

Many ppl are spending a lot of $$ trying to prevent spin.

Also a lot comes down to brake pressure some cars cannot spin at a complete stop, stomping on the brakes and flooring it just for a burnout is a good way to destroy your car

Also on the fact of destroying your car it is possible to have "too much" tire in this case, the ratio of force to the ground changes with larger diameter wheels, also sticky tires big rims added with burning out in a car that can't handle it sounds like a disastrous combination

Is there advance track on the base model v6? I tried pushing the break then holding the traction control button and nothing special happened?

I am able to easily hold a long standing burnout at 4K RPMS with 2.73 gears. Even on stock tune I could do it, but I drive manual maybe that has something to do with it.

Is he auto or stick? Never got that info. If he's got a supercharger on the auto and has not gotten a converter and 3.31s yet... needs to happen asap.

Yes there is advance track on the base and if you are in auto, you have to be in sport mode. Put it in Sportmode, press the button once to turn off normal traction control then hold the break down and then hold the button until it says Advance Track Off. And I can spin my tires on stock gears with my MPT tune, but I also have stock wheels and tires.

You don't have to be in sport mode. You can stay in Drive, hold brake and hold button for 5 seconds. It'll turn advance off.

I would suggest giving it a shot in the rain. I always mess around when it's wet out to try to save some tread, you'd at least get the feel for it. If it still doesn't happen, something is definitely going on. I've got 2.73's with very minor modifications and still can spin the tires when it's dry. But I've also got a manual.
