14' V6 Performance Package PSI?

Hey guys and gals!

I have been running in my head what the LOWEST PSI number is (I.e)..25psi.. before your tpms kicks in and your indicator light comes on your dash.

Me and my buddy were trying to figure it out. I have a 2014 v6 performance package with the gunmetal 19" wheels as in the picture. Click image for larger version

It is typically 25% lower than the recommended pressure.
For example, if recommended pressure is 35 PSI, the low pressure sensor would kick in at .75 x 35PSI = 26.25 psi. So it would probably be around 25 to 27 PSI depending on accuracy and sensitivity of the sensors.

FYI...
A general rule of thumb for air pressure change with temperature change is 1 psi for every 10 degrees F change.
A closer approximation is 2% pressure change for every 10 degrees F change.
So if the temp dropped 40 degrees that would be 4 times 2% or .08.
0.08 x say 35 psi = 2.8 psi pressure drop

Unless you're the NFL, in which case the rules of physics are suspended.

Take an air gauge and drop it down till the light comes on and check it when it does.

You really can't do that because the light does not go out until you drive it a few miles.

I wonder if running the engine would do it or must you actually be moving???
I'll have to check that out when I have nothing better to do.

The manual says you need to drive it for the light to go out.

I like the system in my '11 Charger. You can view pressure in each of the 4 tires on your dash. Additionally, no reprogramming or learning when tires are rotated. The sensor in the tire communicates with the transmitter located at that location. e.g. R/F - L/F - R/R - L/R. Then the transmitter sends its signal to the dash.
