That turbo cyclone with nitrous on 1320video was frigging ridiculous. They definitely have an enormous possibility to surprise most people. Often over looked just because it's a 6 banger. Some people have to learn the hard way. πŸ‘

Just throw some bolt ons and maybe a turbo, have some fun and call it a day.

30k investment on a 3.7....... someone needs their head examined!

Why is this such a hard concept for some of you out there? He might just be able to build a 3.7 that has more horsepower than a GT 500. I don't think he will hit the 900 mark but hitting the 700-800 mark will be like sticking a stake through some of the V8 owners hearts, (If any of them actually have a heart).

Not really, all we have to do is buy any old kit and a good tune and we are right there with him. And we don't have to mortgage our homes and put it on red to fund it.

Thank you. I'm honestly just trying to test the limits, nobody can truly say how far the 3.7 can make it bc it hasn't been tried yet. But that's why I stopped trying to prove myself a couple days ago. I'm glad u understand what I'm trying to achieve and why I'm trying achieve it.

Lets say your build runs you 30k, your goal is 800-900 and your dead set on testing the limits on this platform, and when you exceed that limit and blow up, and it will as a "strictly racing motor" then what, another 15 to 20k??
Your now looking at a 50k build on a 3.7 platform.
Good luck, I have a feeling your going to need it!

Once it blows up that's it for me. I would just buy a new vehicle like y'all said I should do. But I'm still going to test the waters.

So he's going to spend 30k knowing he's probably going to blow the motor and just walk away from the car. What an asshat. Seriously. I understand wanting to push the limits but this is so ridiculous. It would be more fun to buy a gt500. Push it to 8-900 reliably and then make it look like a 3.7.

There are several people pushing the platform, don't try to justify this asinine build like you're doing us any favors here.

Agreed. There's a reason I kept my mouth shut for so long. So many of us are telling him not to do it and yet he still wants to waste the money. There plenty enough people pushing this 3.7 above and beyond what most would. There's been many many of these blown up as well. The limits are pretty well known and he just won't accept that fact. There's enough of us (myself included) who have built in the 600-1200ho range and we know the future maintenance cost on the entire car. But if he wants to waste his banks money let him. Like ox said. I doubt he will even do it and I seriously doubt he got approved for this type of loan unless he has some serious collateral.

Hey, I'm just envious the OP has the funds and balls to spend that kind of cash on a build that high probability will have no long term reliability. I'm just envious dude has more money that he could ever spend. That's great.

I'm just envious of the balls of steel to be willing to drop 30k plus into a build and if it blows up, just walk away and buy another vehicle. Like its no big deal. That's freaking awesome. I have made respect for the OP's balls of steel. I think the OP is nuts but mad respect for him.

I've never met one person at the track that took out a loan for a build. I've never met someone who would take out a loan period to modify a car. If one has to borrow money for a build then said person can not afford the build in the first place. Sorry OP, sounds like a young guy throwing fiscal responsibility out the window and making an ill advised decision. I'm in the camp that believes this is a troll thread. But hey, he's already been "pre appoved". 30k personal loan at 3% is so very unlikely without a good income, and substantial collateral. My wife and I have done well for ourselves, and have substantial collateral, but I wouldn't hold my breath on getting a personal loan with that kind of interest rate. But hey, post up some paperwork and you shut me up, and a few others. Until then, or until you've actually started and show some progress, you will continue to get this same feedback from most. If this is all legit then the OP should ignore this thread. Post back some picks when you get started, and you'll likely gain some support...even if everyone knows it's a poor decision to go about it the way you are.

Op ur getting a lot of ***** from ppl mainly cause no one knows U and they believe ur blowing smoke up their a$$( including me) if ur serious about doing this build u need to keep this thread alive with up to date play by play on how ur gonna approach this. Example the day u get this loan post it. The day u call and order the mods post it. Don't disappears for a long time. If u were known around the forum and undecided to do this ppl would know if u were really serious or not. We all think ur trolling. If u know in ur Mind ur not doing it than drop it. If u really serious and r doing this soon keep us posted. At the end of the day knowing what u know now about ppls experience and still want to do this, I respect that. At the end of the day it's ur money and u do what u want.

A long cruise sounds amazing right about now. Actually, funny you say that. I had an upcoming 1000 mile road round trip to West Virginia this weekend however: A very large snow storm is building and going to hit my area of Maryland along with West Virgina and the northeast.

No trip for me! 😒

Your actually right about most of that I am very young and I am throwing responsibility out the window, because I don't have any in the 1st place. I'm only 20 years old, I live with my parents and go to Georgia state university. My college is paid for by scholarships and HOPE. I had a ****ty job making $20,000 a year and just recently got a job thorough my friends dad that pays roughly $50,000 a year after tax. Now for a kid that just finished paying off his car, I literally have 0 responsibilities besides a $20 phone bill. Now I applied through a credit union for the loan bc they had interest rates as low as 3% but since I haven't been at my job for very long they rejected me. But I'm just going to get one from my bank which they say would be around 13% which is crazy to me but you guys said it would be around there. But I just thought I would give some of you a brief background of what I do and how my life is. If y'all still say I don't have the finances and I'll have to go bankrupt and what not then so be it. I honestly didn't have to justify myself to any of you people but I chose to you, because you people act like it's impossible to get a 30k loan.
