Headlight question

Will the HID headlights (not bulbs the entire casing) fit/work on a base mustang?

If you have the whole setup, i see no reason why it wouldn't. Same car just different headlight set up that's all.

Trevor nailed it. Although if I'm not mistaken the 11/12 uses a slightly different bumper than the 13/14. I might be wrong if I am someone correct me.

I think you're right. AM said the 13-14 lights wouldn't fit the housing for the 11-12

The exterior dimensions of both headlights (10-12 vs. 13-14) are the same. What's different are the internals and one mounting tab. The 10-12 headlights have a tab on the top that stands up and is used to mount part of the bumper. The 13-14 headlights do not have this tab. But you can still use the 13-14 headlights by coming up with a different way to support that part of the bumper, such as this:

The cut piece of metal is taking the place of the missing mounting tab in that picture.

I imagine the connectors and ballasts would need to be transferred over as well, but I can't say that with certainty.

Good information. The ballast and connections definitely need to be transferred as hid lights require different things.
