Painted emblem

I recently decided to paint my front grille emblem. I bought a cheap on online so I could make 2. One is flat black and the other is body color, ruby red. Which one do you all think looks better?

Hmmm, I'D like to see it taped in or something to see how it would look on the car. Interesting.

You should continue the matte black stripes from your hood down through your emblem so that the head and tail of the pony are matte black and there's a ruby red stripe down the middle.

Ha ha ha that's awesome man! Some cool DIY stuff right there! Damn they both look cool! I'd say the red though just so people can know from a distance the work you put in on it.

The other one looks cool too though for sure

Here's a better view of it. I like the red better. One thing tho, the ruby red paint isn't cheap. And it's a tri coat system. Black base coat, red mid coat and a metallic clear. What do you all think about blacking out the chrome grille surround?

Keep the red and black out the chrome.

I hate chrome trimming! Lol.

But yea it does look sexy in the ruby red. I like it!

I like that red horse. I like the chrome trim too. Sets off the horse real nice. Black grill trim would not give enough contrast.

What do you all think about this fake gas cap I painted? Leave it like it is, or black it out?

There is metal like clips on 2 pegs in it. You can see them by looking through the hood latch hole. I took needle nose pliers and worked till I got them off. Then the emblem just fell off

I think it looks great, except for the chrome trim.. I would black out the grill.

Definitely like the red emblem. Looks awesome and helps tie in to the color of the car more than the black one.

So there was no need to remove the entire bumper to take off the front pony emblem?

Just a near stock 3.7

Looks great, I vote to black (plastic dip would do nicely) the chrome surround.

I went online and googled touch up paint for ruby red mustang. And I can't remember the website but they sold spray cans of ruby red paint for like $20. Or you can use the dupli color paint from a autoparts store that is made to match the ford color. You will have to paint the part black first then the ruby red to get the correct hue. I used the online paint for the emblem but the faux gas cap I used the dupli color. There wasn't any difference in the 2 to me. Both matches the car perfect.
