straight pipe

Hello everyone please excuse me for the lack of knowledge but any feed back will be greatly appreciated I have a 2014 v6 mustang which I have installed air raid intake and tune by bama 93 race mode I also recently ordered the sr lowering springs from am which arrived yesterday and I am shopping around for the install which the best price I got so far has been 321.50 cent with the alignment and while other places are asking for 500+ so anyway I am thinking of going straight pipe and if I do will I have to get a new tune from bama or will it be fine thank you for your feed back your dog snoopy!

Straight pipe + V6 = noise pollution.

You'll lose some low end torque with straight pipes.

And thank you guys for your feed back
?? I have modern vehicles. I prefer the New Edge mustang bodystyle. I assume you suggest all fox owners ditch thier rides too? If you don't like the answers don't ask the question. A straight piped V6 just sounds awful.

Don't you think it's time you trade in your little V6 for a V8? See sounds stupid doesn't it...

No hard feelings here. Exhaust is indeed subjective. If you've heard it in person, and heard it under load, and still like the sound go for it. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what I think, or chris, but you got two opinions on each end of the spectrum. Go with what you will like and can live with and you'll be happy.

To add on to what pony said, straight piping will make it raspier than a Honda running from a pack of wild bees once you hit around 4.5k RPM. Personally I love it, but just know with straight pipes you are sacrificing quality throaty sound with loudness. When I pull up to my brothers high school those kids jizz their pants when they hear my car but when I pull up to a car meet with genuine v8 enthusiast then i get the opposite reaction. Different strokes for different folks.

In my honest opinion, the louder a V6 is (IE Straight Pipe) the crappier it sounds.
That and it will be raspy sounding, and you will discover rattles in your car that you never knew you had from the drone.

That's why I always recommend getting some subs before you straight pipe your car lol.

I'm sure you want to do it properly.
Get a set of Long tube headers.
Go to a good muffler shop and have them make a pipe for each side to go from the headers right to each side of the car right before the rear wheels.
NO "X" or "H" pipe
No Mufflers
No Cat's
When all done, Just be sure to let us know how it sounds and if your car runs better.
I don't think anyone has done this modification yet so you will be the first ever to do it.
Ronnie

PS:
Be sure to keep all of your parts because I'm guessing you will want to re-install them .

Easy, Get a couple of high performance cats. They flow pretty freely and may actually help eliminating a little rasp and drone without cutting exhaust flow.

I don't think leaving the stock cats in place would be a big difference and they do flow air really good if you never used some goofy additive to clog them up.

I don't have any reason to cut them off now, my setup is probably the loudest in my county lol. I'm just trying to get some options so I know what to do when I get the twin turbos.

I am happy to know that it is raspy ahead of time I personally love raspy but for the 6 I prefer a low rumble does not need to be load just satisfying any recommendations? I will never sound like a v8 or am not trying just going for a personal touch.

Well doing a straight through midpipe will have your with a very deep rumble down low. But no matter how you do it, it will sound raspy as hell up top.

I was impressed too lol, but that was with an x pipe. Since then I took the x pipe and just have a straight through design from the cats and it sounds much deeper now.

You should wait to install your lowering springs. When you get your new shocks and struts, install all of them at the same time. You suspension was set up as is. You want to keep everything balanced. When you change one part of your suspension, you car will ride differently. Your current suspension was not designed for just changing the springs.

1.5 drop, springs and adjustable pan hard bar over 2 years ago and car still drives excellent with no noise.
No problems for a daily riding on stock stuff with a 1.5 or less drop all around.
