Bought some LED License Plate Lights

Ok, so I was thinking the other night it would be cool to have some LED lights showing my license plate instead of the standard ones since my car is black I thought it would look really cool at night. Long story short I found them! Am I being obsessed?!?! I don't even care I can't be the only one who thinks these are really cool! lol

What do you guys think? This is what they are supposed to look like:

I've had blue LED's on mine for the past two years. Anything looks better than the stock ones IMO.

I agree. My friend was saying I was obsessed since I was shopping for small detail items like lights for a license plate lol (side note: I also bought a sun visor clip it was missing when I originally purchased the car)

My car is black. I just thought it would look real nice and clean with some bright white LEDs so I decided to buy some...hate me rofl

i've heard nothing but issues with those raxiom ones AM sells. they seem to be garbage.

if you want LED's go with Diode Dynamics. their stuff is great. i've got their license plate LEDS, trunk LED and interior LEDS

Agreed! My LEDs and trunk led is from DiodeDynamics.com.

The Raxiom product I mentioned are 2 wires only that 'plug and play' into existing tail lights!

Are you talking about the ones that do the sequential motion when you brake, use hazards, and when you lock/unlock the car?

Exactly:
Raxiom Taillight Sequencers: (I think they look great)!
The Trunk Light is from Diode Dynamics: Cool White SMF4 (56 Lumens) - much better than the stock light!
A correction to an earlier mistake! I did buy my license plate LEDs from American Muscle: Item #49181- the OP's original link! These look Great too!

Yeah, I bought those sequentials used off of someone, not worth the full price IMO. Nice little mod.

I hope you are wrong in my case

Appreciate the recommendation though! If I have issues with them I'll look into making the switch

Diodes are super expensive. From other Forums I am on; I they are one of the best. I do plan on purchasing some led strips from them. Outside of that. I haven't done any leds on the Stangs. Engine work first.

I have done leds in the family van; interior, brake lights, parking lights, reverse lights, trunk lights and door lights. As well as the step lights on my Expedition and a few interior lights.

diode dynamics aren't really expensive. they're cheaper than the raxiom ones which is another reason I liked them. plus you get points which converts to money off your next order.. i think I've got like 12 bucks in points, i just don't know what else to buy lol

You make a point. For the look of the bulbs and they look like the JDM's I got for my other ride. For my foxy body the bundle price isn't that bad. They don't have a lot for us late model guys for leds it seems. For our van it is like 20 bucks a bulb for rear lights. I guess your paying for the three year warranty. Which is a nice offer.

How is there customer service Jayochs?

I have 4 vehicles I want to upgrade, not including extended family cars once they see the completed work.

they're really nice. at one point i couldn't get my points to work for an order, so i hit them up and they manually added the points and placed the order for me in no time. awesome company.

oh and you get points for writing reviews, too!

See now, you got me wanting to start placing my order. I am going to have to play nice with the boss lady; so that when she sees that much for lights. I don't get the third degree. She is slightly digging it to. She likes how our van looks.

I have the map and license by Raxiom via AM. I've had them going on a year, knock on wood, and no issues.

TCopp, do you have any issues with your lights being blue with the police? I ordered white but got blue by mistake and I kind of like it and want to keep 'em.

No. When I drive to work every morning it is dark, and I always see at least one cop. They don't care.

In my area I see a lot of blue and green as license plate lights. A few blues as side markers. I have done a bright blue in my reverse lights in my 01 CRV way back in my 20's. That was a fun but ugly AWD crossover. No cop issues. Actually had one stop me when backing up in 2004, he wanted to know how I did it. Of course back then, I just used a blue cap on the bulb

It's a reason for them to pull you over. Just obey the law and you'll be good
