2.73s to 3.73's PHL Area

I'm looking to move up to 3.73s. Can anyone recommend a reliable installer in the PHL area? Thanks in advance.

I took mine to JG Transmission in the Willow Grove/Abington area. He just changed mine from 2.73 to 3.73 about a month ago. I might have a flywheel/driveshaft issue with vibration past 70mph but as far as the install....went great. Quiet, smooth, simple. PM if you want to use my name or referral or if you have any questions.

For the install itself, I believe it was $500. I also paid for the install kit, gear oil, etc. Off-head, I believe it totaled out to $700 (only thing I bought prior was the gear itself).

Why not just take it to American Muscle?

I took my 3.73 gears to my local Ford dealer. They supplied the fluids and changed some seals, for $550. Gears came out perfect . With gear installs you get what you pay for. I would rather pay around $500 once, than to pay someone $200 two or three times and still have messed up gears

Those sound expensive! I paid $350 for installation plus the cost of the 3.55 gear install kit. This was in Norwalk Ohio by Summit Raceway.

Could be the difference with Philly being large metro. Shops charge more, I'd reckon.

I haven't but know plenty that did. I used this shop:

Chris is a Mustang guru, but his shop is further away.

My local Ford dealers want $1100-$1200 just for the labor. I already bought the 3.73 gears and install kit from AM.

The small local shops want $450-$550 for the same thing.

I would imagine by having the dealer install it would keep the factory warranty in place.
