My last 5.0 was a '12 BBP 3.73 car, loaded and, it did 11s with a sticky tire and a mild 91 tune, at 115 mph.

Then I killed it when I got greedy and supercharged it.

I did drive the 15+ but couldn't justify the high price, even though I liked the car quite a lot.

I eventually got a 14 automatic BBP and this thing is just about perfect for me. The 14 felt way more refined, handled better, went well, compared to the flawed 12 that needed rear suspension work, a tune and shifter help to be satisfying.

I threw a 100 shot of nitrous on the 14 for those days at the strip when power is everything Otherwise, I got a nice tune from VMP for n/a and the car's hilarious.

Big thing here is knowing when you are happy. The supercharging sojourn was a mistake on the '12 and I paid for it physically in injuries, psychologically in terms of shock to the system from putting a car on its roof and financially, obviously.

Dang, that is very scary. To me, the 5.0s have a ton of power already. I wouldn't push it much past a tune if I had one. As the V6 with full bolt-ons w/ tune is pretty good for me already. All of my past cars have been older V6 mustangs, 3000GT, Nissan Sentra, Integra, etc. So as you can see, all of those cars had a lot less power then the modern V6s on today's Mustangs. Don't confuse this with me saying my V6 is better then a 5.0. Because it is not, the 5.0 is far superior

Don't I know it. I've always been lucky like that though...starting to wonder how many lives I actually have left; it is by no means my first close call.

I think the V6 is a great package. I wished more people bought the PP because that had a really nice balance overall.

I've had 5 Mustangs though, earliest being a '68. All 5.0s and it's just what I know, lol

5LHO,

what were/are different about the rears on 12/14? From factory or mods done.

just curiosity.

Nothing mechanically on BBP, it's just that the manual transmission brings out all the worst traits in the live rear axle. the axle hop, the poor lateral control due to the soft bushings, the tendency to snap oversteer, etc. The auto damps alot of this out and makes the car put power down and handle better out of the box.

I did put all the rescued parts from my wrecked '12 out back including, a Steeda UCA, UMI round tube lower control arms, a panhard with energy suspension poly bushings. Not as necessary but, still welcome and already paid for.

Agree, and I'm getting tired of being told that, in so many words, that I should not post here. These forums are confusing, I just responded to an email that somebody had responded to one of my posts, not realizing that it was on the V6 forum--gasp. No offense, but I don.t want to hear about V-6s, I have a 2015 GT Premium w/PP and 6spd. manual. God forbid I stray onto this forum again.

Test drove a 15 Gt Premium Manual..

You could subscribe to the GT sections of the forum. That way you'll know you're in the V8s. Just a thought.

How? Just go to the 11-14 GT and 15+ GT sections and click subscribe. Not that complex.

This thread almost seems pointless and should probably be deleted. It benefits this section of the site in no way and IF anything has come out of it, only hostile posts.

I'll be honest, if I had the extra disposable income I would have looked for a 2014 Shelby. I mean really, who wouldn't want the most power they could get? I would guess most V8 owners see a Shelby and have envy.

Point is, smart people tend to buy what they can afford and be happy with it. I wanted the 2014 because I LOVE the body style and rear lights. I got a V6 because that meant I could get it fully loaded with leather and all the premium bells and whistles. I test drove a stock V6 and the suspension was total mush compared to my PP I ended up with.

This way I get to drive my Stang while I save for a Pro Charger, and after that I will have the power I want AND the loaded goodies that I love.

So if I had the dough I would be driving a 14 Shelby, but for now I'll settle for the fact that there are a LOT more drivers on the road that see my Stang and are envious... regardless of what's under the hood.

Ha, ha. I've unsubscribed from all the threads associated with the V6 and I still get notices (email) that somebody has replied to one of my posts, so when i go there, I'm on the dreaded V6 forum!!!

It's because whoever designed this forum/site made it to where any thread you post or reply to, you are automatically re-subscribed to. You have to disable the option that has this set somewhere in the Control Panel. Can't remember where...

Well, that doesn't look bad either.

I remember when my 12 GT was stock + Procal tune and some dude had a 3.7 with a big Procharger on it. We lined up at the track and that little sucker gave me a real run, like neck-and-neck all the way downtrack.
