Gear fluid change

Just had 3.55 gear installed about 300 miles ago thinking about having the fluid changed again at 500 miles going on some major road trips this summer has anyone else done this after a gear change or leave the same fluid in it ,,The mechanic didn't say anything about changing it out but for a piece of mind thinking it might be a good idea.

I had my 3.73s installed over 2 years ago. When I asked my installer if I should come back after 500 kms for a fluid flush they said not necessary.
They used Royal Purple and gears are still perfect.

I did out of habit. The gear oil that came out at 500 miles still looked new.

I changed my fluid a few hundred miles after my 3.73's were installed. Was some very fine stuff on the magnet from the gears breaking in. The fluid smells pretty bad

Sounds like it doesn't really need to be changed then if it still looked like new.He didn't say anything about doing it again so i'll just hit the highway and let it rip .
