Right did you call to get them repaired? I thought they said they would notify us in the letter?

After I set up an appointment for the recall repair and they found out it was the wrong part, they called me when the correct one came in and setup an appointment for the next day. Probably just got lucky is all.

it sits outside all year, cause my dad has to baby his Eleanor, & I rinse mine off & it honestly looks just like a new paint job

I would get the reflectors from any junk yard near u. Use car-part.com and search for a common item on our mustangs and if there is a mustang near u ask them if the rear bumper is intact and go and just pull them from the car. You could probably even sneak them out not saying u should but either way I can't see a junkyard charging u more than 5 dollars a piece for reflectors.

must be nice. mines a 14 and looks like ****. hairline scratches all over (which look like spiderwebs and stuff in the sun) and random scratches that i just simply can't account for all over. i loathe black cars and will never buy one again in my life.

I had the hairline spiderweb too. It was my own fault, used an orbital buffer. I got some 3m rubbing compound and went small section at a time all by hand and cleaned it up. The coat shows stuff like that on darker paints.

Id try the 3m compound, then polish (not wax). I prefer duragloss 105. Then go to target and get a buffing towel. Its $10 and super soft and holds up like a champ, I own two.

Black is very high maintenance but nothing looks better.

eh a lot of things look better. I'd rather have a red or something. and on my faux gas cap, it's like the clear coat is peeling off. there's some weird looking like oily look to it. yeah, disappointed with the paint on this car.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like you got a bad paint job. Did you but it new or used?

Seems imports are getting the parts first as they had more cars in the recall.

guy bought mustang who had a wife and baby, wife didn't like his choice lol. he traded it in to a jeep dealer and bought a cherokee as a family car. cars in perfect shape, other than the ****ty black paint. like most mustangs, i had to get my hood repainted under warranty due to the bubbling on the edges. everything else on the car is fine. but that rear faux gas cap looks weird.

Can you take a close-up pic of the faux gas cap?

what? i thought the gloss bump is part of the rear decklid panel, whereas the middle and chrome piece are the actual faux gas cap

You could always choose a replacement panel of your choice.
RTR

I believe that was the RTR but then they changed materials. There was a lot of talk about it on this forum a few months back.
The RTR seems to be the most popular but I was planning on getting one of the others. One reason was the RTR requires cutting out the raised hub that's below the deck lid while the others don't.
With some searching I'm sure you can find threads about it, as well as installation instruction. Pretty easy. Uses double sided tape.

wtf is this **** now? i seriously think my paint is defective. if you all recall, or maybe not, but when i first got the car, about 6 months in i noticed weird splotches on my trunk that mysteriously disappeared.

well now i have a weird splotch on my drivers side fender. it's that weird oil panting look that changes colors when you look at diff angles. idk how the trunk one went away, but it's popped up again. the paint on my car just must be absolute ****. i hate black GRRRRRRRRR

I think you may have got some bad clearcoat. But that rear panel was likely painted separately so it doesnt really explain that part.

Where do you park your car?

idk how. i had a black 01 frontier before this, and again, black is god awful. water spots every single time i wash my car, even if i use the water blade, or a leaf blower to blow dry it...no matter what there will still be spots. unless i want it to shine everytime i wash it, i'd have to use detailer spray every single time, and i'm not doing that lol

my first truck was a pos 91 nissan pickup, red, and it never looked dirty. only rusty because random pieces rusted (256k miles so yeah lol) but never water spots or anything. next time, i'm getting a bright color.

also lol at sending from your fridge.
