Lowering springs

I looked them up before installing the SR lowering springs on the proper way to install them but after looking at some photos from am, I'm wondering if I put them on wrong. Most of the photos from am I see the springs with the loose coils on bottom. I put the tight coil on bottom. The user photos from the springs themselves don't help because the photos only show the car lowered but if you look at the photos from the koni shocks it shows most of them put the looser coils on bottom. Talking about the rear springs here on the right, I installed the way they are shown in photo. Pretty sure the stock springs had the tight coils on bottom as well but can't remember.

Here's a photo from am of what look to be aftermarket springs. Most of the photos are installed this way, think I only saw one with the way I installed mine.

Don't they have a slightly different diameter top and bottom? If so, that would only allow it to be installed one way.
Also, isn't the text on the spring coils typically right side up?
