My water pump replacement was covered under power train warranty. Had never been to the dealer since day of my purchase, got charged a little extra cuz of supercharger components. But they were more curious about the vehicle and all my mods lol

Flowmaster force 2 exhaust, procharger supercharger, carbon fiber dash overlay kit, modern retro shift knob, mmd hood and side scoops, classic quarter louvers, gt500 spoiler, 3.7 and pony emblems, mustang rocker stripes, eibach anti sway roll bar kit, Bbk shorty ceramic tuned headers

Did they give you the BS that it was caused by the defective hose that Ford installed and therefore it is not covered?

I know that, I meant what was their reasoning beside denying them warranty work.

They denied all TSBs because I am out of the 36k bumper to bumper. I plan on taking to Ford corporate but I'm sure that won't work.

Still waiting on some update for the airbag recall. Ford did have its first fatality for a Takata-sourced airbag as recently as December (though not a Mustang).

Some vehicle manufacturers are keeping customers apprised of when they estimate parts to be available...but not Ford.

Did they use them in the 2010 stangs? Cause those worked real well, atleast from a passengers perspective.

I asked my local dealer the other day and they said they have no information on parts availability yet.

Once again, a tsb is not a mandated item of work like a recall. It is purely to assist the tech with troubleshooting a known issue and how to remedy it. Calling Ford won't change that. It's not surprising at all that they wouldn't proactively replace the hose and even less that they wouldn't replace a non leaking water pump. Same goes with the axle vent if there isn't gear oil coming out.

If you want to swap the parts for piece of mind, neither are expensive and I changed the hose on mine as a bit of preventative maintenance, it's was only $18 so no big deal.

I put the new hose on last night. Literally took me 7 mins from start to finish. Original clamps worked perfect and not a drop was spilled.

Thanks for the heads up!

It really is a no brainer to replace that hose. If you look at where it is located it is obvious that it could suck air from the tank and direct it right into the water pump. The backflow valve stops that. How Ford could have made car for 5 years and not realized that is a mystery to me. I did mine a year ago and no pump leaks yet at 40,000 miles.

Agreed 1000%. That's just pure greed not replacing that hose. Bought in bulk that part couldnt cost them more than a dollar a pop. But I guess all car companies pull this kind of crap.

Hose on the water pump side just bumps up to the brass lip right and not over the top?

Yup. The stems are at least an inch long if not two. Just work it up to the lips. I would not force it hard though, let it slide over slowly.

So on the pump end you'll have about 0.25-0.5 " of brass showing, then lip, then hose?

Got the check valve coolant hose, differential vent upgrade, and the MT82 fluid swap done. Also added a new cabin filter, and an oil change. Slowly getting everything maintenance wise caught up.

A little slow

I finally got around to installing the differential vent kit yesterday. Non to soon I suspect either. For when I pulled the old vent out there was pressure built up in the housing. It went pssst when I pulled it out. Rear wasn't too messy, hadn't lost a measurable amount of lube. While I was working on the car I gave her clean oil and filter and changed the cabin air filter.

Since this Thread is back to life. I had the air bag canister replaced under the recall. I also had my 'throttle body' replaced for free under the 'Customer Satisfaction Program 16B23'. Some 2011 Ford v6's (3.7L and 3.5L) are possible for this program, you have to check with a Ford dealer and let them run your VIN to see if your build date is on it.

Yeah, did mine too when changing the gear oil a few weeks back.

Pro-tip. If you have an aftermarket aluminum cover (like the FRPP girdle), there's no "lip" to clip the hose to. Instead, clip it to the UCA near the bushing on the top of the pumpkin.
