Cats or no cats?

I recently bought roush axle backs and love them to death but I want even louder sound now should I delete my cats? And will it decrease power or increase power? And is it good for the car?
Thanks

Right after you remove your Cats, we will see the thread on how do I get rid of the Rasp and the drone, I can't even drive the car.
BTW, Not legal, will need to get a tune to get rid of the Check Engine Light and there really is not going to be a shop that will do it since they have this little up to $25,000 fine for doing it for you as well as the $2,500 to you.
Then you have the can't sell the car since I screwed with the Emissions thread in 2 years and don't have the parts to fix it.

Deleting the Cats will increase power, especially with a proper Tune!.. It will also make your car a bit louder!..

Cat delete will make it louder, but not in a good way. I say leave the stock cats or do high flow cats.

Leave the cats, remove the resonators, is another option.

Cats? Personally I prefer dogs...

But honestly, if you want to sound like a ricer - remove the cats and throw some Roush or Pypes axlebacks on. You will get a lot of looks. But not the good ones. I am talking about the looks of disgust as you drive by.

If you want a loud but tasteful sound, leave the mid pipe and get Shorty Headers paired with Borla S Types or ATAKs.

I think that if the roush isn't loud or raspy enough for him already he might not mind going cat less. Everybody has different taste in sound.

My mechanic told me the Mustang factory cats are high flow and quite good, aftermarket cats aren't worth the money. Of course, an off-road mid pipe or cat deletes open up a can of worms. I would not recommend it for a street car.

Every time I'm under my 2015 I'm amazed how tiny the catalytic converters are. I believe that stock "cats" are high flow as well.

Removing the resonator and replacing that with an x-pipe made a big difference.

Where is the "there is no such thing as a high flow cat" thread at... search it, its on here...

No cats=illegal and if a cop is having a bad day you can have your car impounded and a huge fine if he pulls you over. Happened to my friend in Wisconsin, only reason he got to drive his car home is because his mother was the secretary for the Sheriff and the cop recognized his last name. And that was in Wisconsin where there is no emissions test.

When it comes down to it, catalytic converters rob very little power at the levels that 99% of people are at. When you have a turbocharger or start getting above the 500-600rwhp level, then you are looking at potential gains from removing cats. Below that... its a sound thing and how much you are willing to risk a big ticket.

MAC makes a Prochamber midpipe (essentially an off-road h-pipe) that connects to the stock cats. You do have to cut the stock midpipe to install it. Combined with my Borla ATAKs it gives the car a deep idle and it screams when you floor it

Prochamber FTW! Seriously, it is the best thing you can do for sound on any Mustang.

Actually connects to the stock resonators.
Mine was a pretty sloppy fit so had the connections welded.

I run a catless h pipe and a pair of Mac Boom tubes and it's pretty loud but you can control it... Just don't go hammer on it when your by a cop and I think you'll be okay lol
Side note I don't think I'll run them for too much longer I do get compliments and i think it sounds fantastic but 30 miles of highway commute + 4.10 gears= annoying drone or being forced to drive under 70 on the highway... Both no fun haha
